Great and very clean hotel!
I only regretted not having booked for longer (we booked one night only because we weren't sure we were going to stay in Hanoi) because the rooms were quickly booked the following days.

beautiful, clean, great location
Stayed 3 nights at skyline hotel with my husband and sister just a few days ago. Our room and my sister's rooms were really nicely decorated, appropriate sized, and very clean. The location was so perfect, only two streets north of the lake in the middle of the old quarter and surrounded by street food. There is a very good pho restaurant on one end of the little street and Bun Ca noodle soup on the other end of the street. Both were delicious. Hotel breakfast was included and we ate there every morning. Since my sister and I are Vietnamese, we all wanted the hotels pho for breakfast that is served to order. I have to admit, their pho tastes very similar to our moms pho and we really enjoyed it ....simple and delicious. They offer omelettes and other dishes cooked to order, along with the breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, breads, juices, rice and curries and meats. Another notable benefit of staying here is that it is a boutique hotel and the staff really go out of their way to learn your names, chat with you and volunteer advice on where you can eat, what to see, and the best way to get there. Their English is perfect and almost all the staff are friendly and professional women. This hotel left the best impression on us throughout our two week stay, especially since the prices for the rooms were unbeatable. If we go back to Hanoi, will definitely stay here again!

A great hotel with fantastic service
I was very impressed with this hotel. Even though it only has 12 rooms, and some of the rooms are a bit small, the level of service was amazing - from the help about the local area and tour bookings from the receptionist, to the chef/server in the breakfast area. Overall Vietnam has a deep core of young people eager to work in the hospitality industry and its apparantly possible for hotels like Skyline to get staff who are very eager to be helpful, improve their English, etc. This hotel is located in the heart of the 'Old Quarter' - a bustling, very busy area where you see much of everyday Vietnamese people trying to make their livelihood. It is very close to the well-known lake, which has a nice walking path around it, and on weekend evenings is closed to traffic, and so many locals and their families congregate. It is also close to a lot of good restaurants (though I did not find any whose Vietnamese food I found amazing .. in fact I like the Vietnamese cuisine I get Dayton, OH more(!) - but probably because I was not very adverturous ordering.

one night stay
Overall good. Helpful staff and good breakfast. Understanding of us not being well. Common factor in vietnam and hanoi rsp in tjis style of hotel is that itd noisy early on from 6am mostly from outside the hotel Don't stay in top floor room as noisy due to the lift mechanism being situated next to room.
