I liked the single room; it had a comfortable bed, very nice private bathroom, large tv, and it was quiet. Friendly and helpful staff, storage room for luggage, it is a safe place to stay, and about a 10 minute walk to BART and MUNI. Several eateries close to the hostel. Price was reasonable. I enjoyed my stay!

You simply cannot find simple inexpensive lodging on Nob Hill like the Amsterdam. It's primarily a Hostel but we had a private room for two. No frills but the room was comfortable, and our private bath was WAY beyond our expectations. I definitely will choose the Amsterdam again.
