It was ok at best. Don’t expect much for the price
Staff was helpful and extremely friendly. And.. they spoke pretty good English. House keeping Tried and was efficient. However, they never had wash cloths. The one that I was given was old and hard. Made me think of my grandmothers wash cloths when I was 8 years of age (30 years ago!). The indoor gym was more small bedroom with a treadmill and lat pull down machine. And by the way.... The a/c didn’t work in there. Speaking of a/c... the a/c in the room wa more like a wall unit. If you don’t turn it on, you’ll be sweating like a sauna. But if you put it on, it blows directly on your face and will get you sick. Had to be the world’s smallest shower. It was definitely in the heart of the Colonial Zone. Do not look at the star rating of 3 stars and think you’re getting a “middle of the road” Hotel. It should be ‘re-starred’ to 1.5-2 Stars. Price was great though!

Nice Boutique Hotel near Colonial Zone
I was wary of the Hotel at first because of some of the reviews I had read, but booked it anyway. It turned out to be a great choice! Desk Staff, Ricardo speaks great English, was very friendly, check-in was easy. First, the neighborhood is not gritty, it is working class. I was not afraid to walk around nor did I feel unsafe at anytime. The only thing I had an issue with, was the first night when we checked in, a man was standing outside of the hotel asking for money, when he realized I didn't speak Spanish, he said several times 'I have hungry!' I was later amazed to see the same guy standing in the hotel lobby and staff said nothing to him. Well, back to the Hotel. It is clean, the pictures are accurate. We booked the Junior Suite, with Ocean View which is more like a small apartment. Yes, you can see the Ocean. TV worked fine, great channel choice. The small refrigerator worked fine, air conditioning great, hot water, the little kitchenette allowed us to prepare our breakfast and warm up food. There is no microwave. We did not use pool or hot tub due to time but they looked fine. Rain prevented us from using Roof Deck. I would have given five stars, but room was only cleaned once of the four nights we stayed. We ran out of toilet paper and I went downstairs to tell Ricardo who brought up a roll within minutes. Also, the sheet kept coming off the mattress which probably could be resolved with a mattress pad. Otherwise, I will certainly be staying there again.

    never again
I was all set to give the hotel an amazing review but due to a breach of privacy I can not. Upon returning home I began to receive text messages via the what's app from a number I did not know. My boyfriend recognized the person as a hotel working from his profile picture. I immediately became concerned as to how and why he had my number. I contacted the hotel and explained the situation though they apologized there was no reassurance that my personal information was safe. I had to contact my bank and let them know and cancel acxounts. I travel often and we stay at many different hotels and situations and this is a first. I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. I understand it was an act of one person. But that person represents the hotel and the lack of response from the hotel regarding the breach in my privacy is not OK.
