Hotel Costazul, Mexico City
Affordable refuge
As a frugal traveller, I carefully choose my accommodations when I travel. Hotel Costazul is one of those accommodations that will provide you with all the basic amenities. It's not perfect but it can meet all of your basic needs. Plus, the prices of the rooms are almost at par with hostels in the area, except you do have your own private bathroom. At any rate, not to sound like I'm rationalizing, but I was not planning to stay in my hotel all day anyway because Mexico City is just such a fascinating city to explore. I like the hotel's location because it's tuck away from the craziness along Isabel La Catolica - one of the main roads in the historic district. Also, there's an awesome and affordable restaurant downstairs with excellent service (called Bro House)...

Hotel near ambulance station. Constant sirens going off. Over all, it is clean and good service.
