    Stinky dog hotel
Being dog friendly is one thing but even the non-dog rooms smelled like urine. The blankets and sheets were covered in dog hair - like it’s washed and woven into the fibers. Nasty. Dogs and people barked all night long. We checked in and 3 trashy pre teen boys swimming in the pool in undies shouting about poop. they could be heard across the entire complex for hours and hours. We should have ran then. The parents were just as trashy shouting swearing and smoking as if they have never been in a public place before. I realize the hotel has no control over their guests....or do they ?? They chose to stay there and keep me up all night I can choose to leave... and demand a refund -so we did. I realize it is dog friendly- but I didn’t expect it to be a kennel. Trashy ,loud rude people need to be dealt with by the management. Although the front desk clerk was nice and friendly, he didn’t seem too concerned about the other guests being so disruptive. No full length mirror, only one usable outlet. The fan shook so hard I thought was going to fall from the ceiling. That was after I had to push a chair over to even turn the light/fan on. Come on splurge for a longer chain or better fan with a remote. The bare bones room was fine for one night. But thin pillows. Dirty bathroom floor. The plant collection was collection with signage was amazing. A succulent lover planted it. And sadly it’s a not as well managed as it could be. But a nice classy and surely underappreciated touch.

Family Time! Spacious Room, great location
We arrived a few hrs earlier than check in, however they had room ready so gave us complimentary early check in. Ladies in lobby were very welcoming & pleasant. Room was spacious. Family of 4 did not feel crowded at all. There was a clump of hair on the bathroom sink, but other than that the room was pretty clean. Beds were pretty firm though not all that comfortable, wish there were more pillows even if just a 3rd pillow per bed. We stayed 2 nights. 1st night was great, 2nd night not that great. Our neighbors were fighting & we could hear the loud shouting match until 1am. The beach is a few mins walk as it is located directly behind the hotel. Coffee & Breakfast items super convenient. Sea World only 10 mins or less. Check in & out 👍 Will definitely visit again.

Not worth the discounts, "group coupons", etc.
At check-in, girl with braces was very cold and unhelpful. Maybe she was having a bad day? Naw, that seemed to be the case with most of the staff. Minutes after checking in I told the front desk about burnt out light on patio. Told them I'd replace it if they just give me a bulb. They had none. I was told it'll be noted and replaced the next day. It never was over 3 days. The other reviews are correct - mattress was soooo bad it was like something from a cartoon. Asked to change rooms - none available. Was told I'd be put on a list they'd have plenty the next day. Never heard back. While sitting on the patio a random hobo come creeping out of the bushes just opposite me. Was he sleeping? Pooping? Just being a creeper? Who knows. The last night some random guy knocks on my door with the do not disturb sign, says 'sorry, guess I got the wrong room'. Seems suspicious so I go back out to see where he went. He's gone but accidentally left my key in the room. Tell the front desk guy, who had alcohol on his breath from 5' away. He asks what the guy looks like, I tell him and he replies "I know who that his. He and his crew usually don't start coming around until it gets colder. I'll walk you back to your room." Crew of burglars? Well, then the party started in the room above me which was obnoxious and noisy. While walking my dog later it seemed as though the same front desk person had joined the part too. The room had a sewage smell which never went away. I could go on.

    Oasis by the Ocean
The Ocean Villa is a wonderful spot to stay in Ocean Beach. Its beach access is amazing and the local area is San Diego's Venice Beach--a little funky and full of life. The hotel itself is comfortable and clean. The bed was on the older side and linens typical of 2-star hotels--on the generic, thin, and scratchy side. This hotel is dog friendly (appropriate for a property that abuts Dog Beach). Mine room opened out into the enclosed dog run behind a number of the first floor rooms. Great for dogs, a little funky for me traveling sans a doggy friend. You may want to request a second floor room. The staff were great! Welcoming, warm, informative--really everything you can ask from hotel folks. I'll come back if given the chance, just for the chance to be so close to a great beach.

First love the area, Ocean Beach is my new vaction location. The staff was super friendly. The lady that checked me in had a smile on her face the whole time. She was very informative and give me treat bag for my pups and a map with all the pet friendly restaurant. The young man that help me throughout my trip after i had a small leak and also when my key didnt work was fantastic. Wish i got there names sorry. The hotel treated my dogs like family. Super pet friendly, the dogs loved it. They even met other dogs in the dog run.The hotel is a little dated and the TV in the room was small. But love the location next to the beach. The only thing i can recommend is bring a bromm the rooms does get sandy quicly especially when you bring the dogs and your on a beach vacation. Overall this place hands down is my go to doggy vacation spot.
