Sweet and unique. Recommended 100%
We enjoyed cottage #4 immensely! Loved that it wasn’t a cold, sterile, boring hotel chain. Cilla checked us in and was warm and very helpful with suggestions of places to visit and giving us a map. It was our 10 year anniversary and we were greeted with a lovely red rose, card signed by all of the staff, and a bottle of Biltmore Chardonnay. Such an incredibly sweet, thoughtful, and generous touch! The cottage is quite large. There is a sweet covered front porch with an antique glider. Out back there is a hammock, fire pit, and Adirondack chairs. Inside is a large writing desk with a little library of books, a nice leather loveseat, a comfy King sized bed, a 6 drawer dresser, a small fabric covered rocker and an ample closet housing an iron and ironing board. The bathroom is a little small, but quite a bit of storage in the medicine cabinet and wall shelving. The shower has a very nice rainhead with ample pressure. The shower/tub is a bit older and thus has some staining, but it was definitely very clean. The kitchen has a cute retro pub height table with 4 chairs. There is a microwave, apartment sized fridge/freezer, gas stove/range, dawn dish soap, fresh sponger/scrubber, dish drying rack, plates, cups, cutlery, Can opener, veggie peeler, Tupperware etc. and a nice 12 cup drip coffee maker. They supplied coffee, sweeteners, little creamers, and tea. (Though we purchased some amazing locally roasted coffee and used that instead) Staff was attentive, but not intrusive.

Cozy Cottage
We found Pine Cottages to be very quaint. We stayed in #13. It was very clean. They even took our dog into consideration. They had a water and food bowl for her and a jar full of treats. Since we didn't realize they would provide the bowls for our dog, we took hers with us and unfortunately we left hers behind when we checked out. We were well on our way home when we realized it. The frame on the bed broke when we were laying down on our last night there. I didn't think I would get anyone on the phone since it was late, but I figured I'd call and leave a message. To our surprise, someone did answer and notified the owner of the mishap, and he called us right away. You can tell they take pride in their cottages and their guests. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and were nicely surprised with roses and a bottle of wine. We would definitely recommend Pine Cottages and plan on returning some time in the future.

Overall the stay was okay, not the best but not the worst. Definitely rustic as the flooring in Cottage 1 is so slanted the head of the bed is slanted down, the pillows are so bad we went to Target and bought 4 new ones and put the cottage pillows on the floor, the natural wood floor is unfinished so leaves a wonderful dark soot stain on bare feet as the working fireplace dominates the room you and you clothes smell like you have been barbecued. Even our sweet dog refused to lay on the floor unless on her bed. There needs to be some better lighting and places to hang clothes/ towels. Such easy fixes instead of having to lay your hand towel on the side of the sink. It fit basic needs for kitchen and not having to run out for food as in a hotel and the location is literally 10-15 minutes from downtown Asheville, easy access to the Biltmore and easy access to Pisgah National Forest.

Great quiet place to stay
Wow, what a charming cottage. We stayed there 3 nights with our two kids. Wish we had booked more nights. We cooked breakfast each morning just to use the cute kitchen.
