Very Good8.0
Nice Motel, will Stay Here Again
Nice motel fairly close to the activities we had planned - not walking distance, but short drives to fairgrounds, golf, wharf and Cannery Row. Friendly staff. Room was clean and well kept during our 5 day stay. Fridge / freezer & microwave in the room were a nice touch for drinks and snacks. A good deal for the price.

Great little gem hidden away amongst older motels
I can see why this place is rated so highly on this site and elsewhere. 1) we had very efficient and friendly check in (we were told prior that early check-ins aren't allowed so we didn't try). When we arrived around 5 the front desk person already had everything ready for us. He was courteous and explained everything (including discount vouchers to restaurants nearby) to us pleasantly. 2) The beds are amazingly comfortable at this place. Like, LUXURIOUS. They're high, they have that pillowy bounce only fancy beds have. 3) Bathrooms are well stocked with many sets of bath products. Charming sea-shell shaped soap. Also, BATHROOMS ARE SPARKLING CLEAN. A little small, but really well maintained and does not smell like gross industrial strength bathroom cleaners. 4) Vintage furnishing. Some of it is worn. But it really doesn't feel like a typical motel on the inside. It's cozy, and has some character. 5) TONS of parking. There's a spot in front of every room + some so cars can fit. The grounds, although a bit worn, are maintained - fresh paint, flower pots - in good condition. 6) Someone maintained that this is a rough area. It ACTUALLY ISN'T. It's close to a lot of drugstores and restaurants, and much of the neighborhood is under construction or update because it's full of older, worn down motels. Monterey has a very low crime rate and is largely a very wealthy town.
