Whether on a budget or Want a Japanese Experence
Had a great experience at Capsule Hotel Anshin Oyado Premier Shinjuku station, Tokyo and here's why: - 3 minute walk from the SOUTH EXIT of Shinjuku Station - Facilities are CLEAN and SPOTLESS - Plenty of FREE things Lounge area with all you can drink non-alcohol hot/cold drinks choice of two packed pastries or onigiri Japanese rice balls, hot/cold water, soups, and vending machine snacks, beer, etc - Bath amenities (soaps, shampoos, face cream/toner, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, dental floss, comb/brush, hair gel/mud, razors and so much more - Communal Japanese style bathroom with artificial hot spring, steam room, towels, etc - Washing machine/dryers and free clothes detergent, and more Things you should know (but not to be afraid of) - Any bags/luggage wider than 8 inches (~20 cm) won't fit in the assigned lockers you'll be given. But, you can still stash a bag with the front desk who stores the larger items in the back office, so it's very safe. That said, for anything more than two bags, this is probably not the type of lodging you shouln't be considering. - The capsules (rooms) are incredibly furnished with a pillow (there are other types of pillows you can help yourself to on each floor), a warm duvet, TV w/ earbuds, free ear plugs, bottled water which you can refill in the lounge and charge cords for your phone/electronics and a small air conditioning unit to keep you comfortable. - YES, the capsule is NOT large, but at 5'9 (1.75 cm) it was just fine.

great capsule hotel in shinjuku
Overall I had a pleasant experience. I mean, a capsule hotel - it is what it is. You sleep in a cubby. You will hear other people snoring. You're in a small space. Service here is efficient because they are shuffling huge numbers of businessmen and tourists in and out. Yet, service was still exceptional and no one was ever ever rude. It's amazing how the staff is able to keep thing chugging when almost every guest speaks a different language. The public bath was clean and they provided toothbrushes, razors, combs, basically everything. I never felt that my belongings were at risk of being stolen. Wifi worked great throughout the entire premise. The area is great, Shinjuku basically never sleeps. I would definitely come back.

Bad experience
Sounds as a good experience to have. However, the shared bathroom when you supposed to clean yourself while sitting on plastics seat and next to other people is not the cleanest way to do. I got an infection on my arm... Also, sleeping in the same room with many other people ended up with noise of snorring... The stuff doesn't english. Also, they lost my locker key and asked me to pay for it.

Great capsule in a perfect location that's a few minutes from Shinjuku Station. Place is very clean, and the shower/bathing facilities are great. Perfect for solo travelers.
