Good Price, location and room quality but noisy
Price, location and room quality were good. However, the room was not serviced and it was very very noisy during our stay, Hard to sleep through the weekend specially. Slow wifi.

Great location, clean, comfortable. But, we could hear a bar fight early in the morning.

Friendly, Central, and Worth It
After traveling around the Ring Road, my friend and I decided to stay in Reykjavik for a couple of nights before heading home. Centric was a great place to lay our head. It was not only located a short walk from the main shopping area and numerous restaurants, but also close to tourist-related activities. The room (Double w/ private bathroom) was larger than any I've ever had in Europe, and you could easily close the blinds to minimize the midnight sun. This might not be a fully serviced hotel on par with major chains (if you're expecting that), but the service you receive from the owners is top-notch. Orvar was so very friendly and accommodating. He even helped schedule (and reschedule) our flybus when the company failed to pick up. I highly recommend staying here and would do so again if I make it back to Iceland.

Good value VERY centrally located!
We stayed in two rooms (beginning of stay and end of stay). The first room was small and cramped, but clean and adequately comfortable. The second room was large and quite nice! It had large windows overlooking the main street. The only downside was that due to the large windows and 24 hours of sun, the room was VERY bright - bring eye mask. The location is PERFECT - you are literally steps away from everything from the main shopping street to the central square to the harbor. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is more of a motel/hostel. The owner leaves you a note and your keys and you are on your own from there. Also - beware that in the summer the club downstairs doesn't close on the weekends until about 4am - this wasn't a huge problem though. I would highly recommend staying here is you don't need daily room servicing (new towels, bed making) and you want good value and central location. And definitely go to the Seafood restaurant right below the hotel!
