Best hotel in Ireland
Best hotel in Ireland. The locals are amazing and very very friendly. Will be going back 100%. The owners Brenda and Damian are best people I have ever met. Great morning breakfast. Proper Guinness poured at the hotel bar. Thanks for everything

Excellent Stay
We arrived earlier than planned after a transatlantic flight, and the hotel staff was tremendously accommodating in preparing a room early for us while we had coffee in the restaurant. Wonderful carvery meal at lunchtime and excellent cooked to order breakfast. We enjoyed our walk to the large church in town. We will stay here again as we pass through Shannon Airport. Much more relaxing than airport hotels. Oh, the gardens behind the hotel are lovely. Easy parking also.

Free parking, comfortable room but a bit noisy
This is a combined drinking/dining/accommodation hotel. We stayed on a Saturday night when the weather was good so unfortunately our “courtyard view” turned out to be a disadvantage with loud drinkers and a game of soccer with rebounds off our window to keep us awake later than we would have liked. Closing the window reduced the noise but this made the room way too hot for the thick quilt better suited to igloo temperatures. On the plus side, there is ample free parking and the staff on arrival were very welcoming and helpful. Bar staff were happy to supply us with ice in a bucket. Be aware of the two light switches just outside the bathroom door to avoid turning the room light on during the night and waking your partner when you only want the bathroom light. The wifi did not work for us. Staff tried to help but could not explain why they could connect to it but we couldn’t. Take care when checking out that a currency option isn’t selected for you without your agreement if paying by credit card. Management were happy to rectify this when I mentioned it. There isn’t much open in the town itself in the evening so dining options are limited to the hotel itself.

Great Hotel - Poor Location
This is a well run and well kept hotel with all of the facilities covered bar a leisure centre. It is very well maintained and clean, with helpful. and friendly staff. The bar was really lively the day we were there with communion parties and a lot of spot on the TV's. It has a nice well maintained small garden area to the rear with plenty of car parking. We had a suite for the night and it was really excellent with a huge separate reception area and a large and well appointed bathroom. The TV however only had local channels, but the WiFi was good. As mentioned in the heading, the only real downside is the location as there's nothing else to do in Rathkeale.
