Hotelo, Lyon
The hotel is within walking distance of Bellecoeur and the old city. Staff are wonderful, helpful and gracious. The hotel is old but clean and updated. Room was small. Air conditioner worked well. We would happily stay again. Thank you!

Great location, comfort, & service!
Hotelo was a perfect hotel for my stay in Lyon. Location: I arrived via train from Paris and it stopped at Gare de Lyon - Perrache, which is a short walk from this hotel. I easily walked to the hotel from the station with a large suitcase, large backpack, and bag. When leaving Lyon, I walked back to this station with all of my bags to access the metro, which connected me to the Rhône Express to the Lyon airport. Super easy. I could easily walk or bike to all key sights in Lyon from this hotel. Just outside of the hotel is a bike share station, with another just down the street, that I used while touring the city. Never needed or used a taxi! Comfort: the room was clean, spacious, and the bed was very comfortable. I had a small balcony which was nice too! They offer breakfast for 9 euro, but I prefer to eat at an outdoor cafe, so I can’t speak to that. The lobby & breakfast area are very nice though & the Wi-Fi worked well. Note: there is no elevator, but it’s only one flight of stairs. So not a problem for me. Service: everyone I encountered with the front desk personnel were very nice and helpful. I had an issue with the bike share kiosk outside and she went outside to help me, which I think goes above and beyond expectations. There was another man who helped me with directions to the airport to make my transport smoother. Overall: I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it. It worked perfectly for me and my budget!

Incredible service
Great location close to the center of town with easy access to the metro and parking. Staff was super helpful and friendly. Rooms are not large but they are in line with typical European hotels. Our family of four was very comfortable. Highly recommended.

Convenient value hotel
This hotel is great value for money. It is well maintained. It is at the edge of Lyon's city center with easy access to public transport. However, all of the city's key attractions are within walking distance. The owners and staff are very friendly and extremely helpful.

Friendly owner and walkable to most sites
We had a comfortable 3-night stay at Hotelo in September. The hotel's owner, Olivier, is very friendly and hands-on and gave us a great orientation upon arrival. Also, although we had not booked parking in advance, he had a space available (15 Euro per day; covered/secure) and instructed us on how to get in (if you arrive by car you'll have to pull over on the adjacent street and go into reception before getting your parking...a tram runs directly in front of the hotel's front door so no stopping there). The room was clean and basic and suited our was rather small but that's completely normal here in Europe. Despite facing the tram, the room was fairly quiet (insulated Windows) and comfortable with A/C included. Lyon is very walkable and it was a 10-15 minute walk from the hotel to the Place Bellecour. Would stay again.
