Recent experience
As soon as I walked in my room smelt strange and it was emanating from the carpet. The room was very simple. I checked my bed sheets and they looked clean but I couldn't get over the smell from the carpet. I had a closer luck with the torch on my phone & spotted a bed bug running along the carpet- I've had experience with bed bugs before so I knew what they looked like. They are an absolute nightmare to get rid of once you have them- so I immediately left the guest house and wandered around Inverness at midnight trying to find somewhere else to stay. I won't book here again and wouldn't recommend.

Do not stay here!
The employees smoke just outside the door so smokey inside. Carpeted steps entry dirty and needed vacuumed. Hotel was rough, unvacuumed carpet, duct tape on frayed seam. Room had missing woodwork, mildew on shower ceiling, no ventilation, very temperamental shower, difficult to get temp right. Room door had been recently repaired, with raw wood. Bathroom grout missing or dirty on floor and tile loose and cracked. No hot water in sink or drain stop. Overall it accomplished the purpose of shelter but WAY overpriced for the shabby condition of the place. I will not recommend, very disappointed.

The location was good, with an easy walk to the train station and various attractions. This is an older property with creaky floors and doors. It was clean enough and served a light breakfast. It doesn't have an elevator and we were on the third top floor, so that made getting our luggage up a task. The real problem for us was the noise. We arrived on a Saturday and our room was located on a side with an outdoor bar. Even with earplugs and closed windows it was extremely loud from midafternoon to 3 AM. For the next several days we moved to an interior room. It was better, no street noises, but seagulls intermittently.

Terrible
Rooms are not up to much. When we got room sheets were put on bed by staff and were still wet. Room was dirty and shower had no soap or towels. Nightclub goes on until 3am so don’t expect to get any sleep. We got upgrade to family room and was told we would need to pay extra only to find out we had already paid more for room through hotels.com 😡
