Very Good
Best things were the staff, friendly and helpful and a central location. Bathroom was modern with great shower. Room was small with no dresser only hangers and hooks on the wall. The worst lighting ever...I could barely read at night...very low and poorly placed lighting. Berlin was in record breaking heat wave but hotel has no AC so the overhead fan was only cooling device. No hot water on two days. Needed to be fixed but failed again. Not sure I would return because of the miserable lighting.

Exceptional
I have read about The Circus hotel and the good reviews that are posted! We booked a suite (201) and the reviews certainly lived up to expectation! A fantastic long weekend stay, everything about this place is top class. All of the staff were very friendly, helpful and fun. Always there to assist and make the Berlin experience easy and achievable. The hotel itself is very well located to explore, the hotel areas are funky and relaxing. Our suite was large and well appointed, very clean and comfortable. Most of all it was Very quiet with no road noise at all !!!! We used the Circus Hostel for breakfast, a lot cheaper than the main hotel. The hostel also has a micro brewery underneath it, this was a great place for a nightcap and loads of interesting books to browse. All in all top marks to the Berlin Circus Hotel, a great team, well done. Merry Christmas Roger and Kym Smith

A well-run boutique hotel in a convenient location
This well-run boutique hotel with a team of friendly and dedicated staff, is located by the Rosenthaler Platz. Easily access by all kind of transportations (subway, trams) to a area filled with great eateries, cafes, boutique shops, groceries and bakeries, to self-service laundry and even a post office — everything you need. The room is well designed with thoughtful details on every aspects, both aesthetically and functional pleasing. The hotel staff recommended an old school German restaurant with outdoor seats, Sophieneck, on our first night which is awesome for pork knuckles, sausages and my personal favorite: asparagus soup. Surprisingly there are a variety of Asian restaurants in the area. It's walkable distance to Alexanderplatz to catch one of the tourist bus. And if you really like to walk, the museum island is totally doable by walking.

Very Good
great for young clientele
The was my 3rd stay in 7 years and there were some changes in a negative direction: the hotel no longer has the fabulous breakfasts it once had, nor a real restaurant. The daily room cleaning is rather bare bones. The hotel is increasingly geared toward a very youthful clientele, which is a fine business choice, but as an older person, I no longer felt at home there .There were very few middle-aged clients and not many families. The music being played pretty much all the time in the lobby was fairly loud and a bit intrusive. That being said, the location simply couldn't be better--the best of the East. Laura at the front desk was an amazingly warm and helpful person. The beds were exceptionally comfortable and there was better reading light than in the past. The roof garden with its honor bar is simply great. Overall, I would give it a very high rating for the under 30's and pretty high for the under-40's, but I will probably stay elsewhere--nearby--in the future.

Exceptional
The hotel is situated in a very lively area, lots of restaurants and bars to choose from. Their own bar/restaurant is great as well, but restaurant close early. The hotel staff is one of the most friendly hotel staffs I've met, super accommodating and gave me lots of good suggestions of where to go and what's happening around the city. Shout out to Vicky for the best restaurant recommendations. The room was clean and well designed as well. It's a artsy and hip boutique hotel so you will expect to see lots of cool and fun things around the hotel, adds to the fun experience in Berlin.
