DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL if you want to sleep in a clean place. My wife and I stayed for three nights at this hotel in a room with two beds. As we were getting ready to leave the room we noticed that there were two used condoms next to one of the beds. For three days the cleaning staff just did not thoroughly clean our room! Obviously, we put our complaint to the hotel reception, but they don't seem to have bothered much. One of the receptionists even suggested that the condoms were mine.

The location across from the Alameda Hidalgo park is excellent for taking a casual stroll. The hotel is a few minutes walk from the Centro Historico, but wear comfy shoes as it's a lot of cobblestones and very narrow sidewalks. The breakfast buffet offers good options for carnivores, but skimpy for vegetarians; they even mix the ham into the eggs, so you may have to settle for bread and fruit. Coffee and orange juice is brought to your table; the staff doesn't speak much English, so learn how to ask for jugo de naranja and cafe. The front desk staff spoke English well enough for me to check in and out and get some directions and change some money. The biggest downside was the spotty wi-fi during peak usage times. But this was just a matter of continuing to try until you got logged on. Room was clean, with modern decor and a few nice touches. My simple room had no refrigerator. Next time I would opt to pay a little more for the park view, but I would definitely stay there again, all things considered.
