Oasis Hotel Bagan, Nyaung-U

Clean and good location for Nyaung-U, with friendly staff. I ended up staying here last minute after booking a room hotels.com incorrectly said was in this town, but in reality was 7+ miles away in a different town. I was able to cancel only 2 of the 3 nights at the inaccurately described hotel. Still waiting for Hotels.com to respond to my messages about that problem.

We booked for 4 nights but only stayed 3. The Hotel is well located approx 10 minutes walk from restaurant street, staff were friendly and helpful with the room clean and comfortable. However there are some issues that were not satisfactory 1) room had no working shower for one day and a half. I know water pressure can be an issue but no water is not good 2) Room safe would not unlock on at least 6 occassions 3) The hotel had several blackouts with no electricity for some time, a problem sometimes in Asia but this was too often 4) Rowdy young guests from Yangon having a party for two nights until 2am and beyond and management seemed to be powerless to stop it or just didn't want to confront the situation 5) our room was flooded at midnight on the first night due to a heavy storm and blocked drains, unfortunate but did not get us off to a good start Would I stay there again, maybe but I would want to be assured of better control of late partying if it occurred

Wifi was really slow when and if it was working. They demanded I pay for the accommodation even though the whole amount had been paid on-line. Lucky I had printed the confirmation. If I had needed to see it on line with their connection I would have had a problem. The shower had almost no water, just a dribble. The bathroom was shabby. The superior double room was noisy banging doors etc. The staff did their best under the conditions.

Decent accommodation with comfortable bed, walk-in rain shower, nice gardens. Staff were friendly and the e-bikes that the hotel hires out were newer and better quality than some of those available elsewhere. On the downside, room was a bit dark, over the two night stay the room was not serviced, and breakfast was “meh”. Would not recommend the “new deluxe” rooms by the pool unless you like people hanging out right outside your door from early morning until evening. The “deluxe” rooms might be a better choice. Easy walk to the “restaurant street”.

Nice and cozy hotel close to restaurants. Great place to relax after visiting the temples. The Oasis hotel is a nice small hotel. Rooms are simple and clean. Staff are very nice and always ready to help. The swimming pool and the garden make you feel in a little oasis in the middle of the village. They have a good breakfast. You can also rent e-bikes in the hotel itself.
