Very Good
the construction does need to affect the stay!
Price should.be reduced due to the construction but the place is beautiful and will be even more spectacular when it is fully completed.

Bittersweet Honeymoon Stay
First, let me say most of the staff on site are wonderful: front desk, bartenders, and restaurant staff were very accommodating and fun to be around. The food was great for an all-inclusive. There were a handful of restaurants/bars with solid options to choose from. The main pool had plenty of seating/cabanas, and the frozen drinks there were tasty. The rooms had extra amenities and great views of the planes landing on the beach, which was very cool! HOWEVER, there were some major issues we encountered during our stay: - We were locked out of our rooms (with our stuff inside) for the first 4 hours of being there due to an issue with keys. - There was a slow leak from the base of our toilet. It seemed to just be water, at least. - A hat with great sentimental value went missing from our room while it was cleaned. We assumed it got mixed up with our sheets. - On our last morning, a construction worker entered our room through an adjoining door and woke us up. We chalked some of this up to a rushed re-opening and brought all of it up during check-out. We were assured management would follow-up with us and left feeling somewhat positive about our stay, but they never did. Calls and emails were never returned. All we got was an unexplained charge of nearly $500 that we had to call Sonesta Customer Care to fix. Still no explanation on any of these issues. Wishing this place and these people the best in their recovery, but there’s still a lot to figure out.

Exceptional
AMAZING, Don't Believe the Bad Reviews. I RCMD!!!
DON'T BELIEVE THE BAD REVIEWS!! This hotel and my experience was AMAZING!!! I was initially worried on those bad reviews but I didn't experience any of this. The staff was all but helpful. I actually did have one bad experience with any staff member. The location is awesome for plane watching. If you're interested in seeing the planes, request a top floor room. All the rooms on the first floor (including the walkout swimming pool rooms) are blocked with lush vegetation. Access to the beach and street shops is very easy. I walked to the hotel from the airport very easily and late at night without any problems. The hotel grounds was amazing. I found the majority of guests were staying at the other Sonesta and Ocean Point was was very quiet and private throughout my entire stay. Access to both hotels is very easy. They give you bracelet with an electronic code reader that allows you into your room without a keycard and access to all the gates from Sonesta Maho beach to Ocean Point. I've never stayed at an all-inclusive that had amazing food. The same goes for this property but I wasn't unhappy. There are plenty of restaurants and choices to chose from. The room was equally as amazing. And the TV system is very advanced and easy to use menu controls. The A/C worked great! I will say the only negative I do agree with is that the bed is very hard. Room service is great and very fast. Note there is a room service menu but you can really order whatever you want.
