I reserved a room 1 1/2 hours in advance and appreciate that H.com and The Nest accommodated the late booking. Last minute stay due to work demands. I've stayed here before so I knew what to expect. On my prior overnight, there was a breakfast and coffee available in the "breakfast area". I checked the site and breakfast has been removed from 'Amenities', but the photo of breakfast area is still up. Coffee pot in room with Folgers. I usually travel with French Press so bad hotel coffee doesn't normally bug me. Cord on pot too short to reach from top of fridge to outlet. Had to move pot to bedside table & unplug clock to make a cup of coffee. A carafe of coffee set out in the lobby around 5 or 6 am would be appreciated.
Hall and lobby hot but room was cooled adequately by window ac units. View of downtown out windows was not possible. These are original windows that haven't seen ammonia and a squeegee in years. Clean glass for the view would have been appreciated. Bed was comfortable, water pressure was good and water was hot.
WiFi very weak on 3rd floor At less than -80 dBM. WiFi signal should be mapped and boosters installed. I used my phone as a hotspot for my laptop in order to email and use the internet.
Area is safe, yet I understand how a woman traveling alone or someone staying for the 1st time could feel insecure in the unstaffed lobby.
I prefer unique, historic, quirky lodging and this is all 3. It is not boutique but bargain rates reflect that.
