Nice Inn at Great Location in Ogunquit
This was my wife and I first stay at Colonial Inn and we were pleasantly surprised. Our room with king size bed in Main building was very good size, well decorated and extremely clean. Housekeeping did a fine job and was prompt to service our room. The outside pool area is small but pool was warm and kept very clean. Overall grounds are very nice with healthy plants everywhere. The best thing about the Colonial Inn is its location which is centrally located about halfway between Main Street downtown area/beach and Perkins Cove. We never needed to drive to walk to the beach, and the many fine restaurants for dinner and breakfast. The continental breakfast provided by the Inn is very basic and nothing special. If you are looking for a reasonable price place to stay at the very good location, give Colonial Inn a try.

Average Hotel in a Beautiful Town
Never stayed at the Colonial Inn before so we gave it a whirl, as we found a good rate on Hotels.com. Grounds are pretty and the hotel lobby is beautiful! (wish the rooms were that nice!) Check in was fine. Young kid working the desk didn't offer much for info in terms of local happenings when we asked & they ran out of local maps. Room in the Extended East Building was BIG! Normal wear & tear to the room with noticeable repairs. Our tub backed up a decent amount when we showered. Called to have them fix it while we were out, but they never came, nor did they tidy the room, bring new towels, etc. Called front desk to inquire and didn't get any kind of apology. Had to have housekeeping/maintenance deliver towels to us that night. The very polite man asked why we didn't have the "service room" tag on the door that day & we shared that there isn't one, which he confirmed, although never brought one back. TV would stop working during our stay or go back to the guide station frequently for no reason & the remote control barely worked. Things like that are annoying when paying a decent amount of $. At check out, we were never asked how our stay was, otherwise we would have shared. That's a huge pet peeve, as customer service should be a priority. The young kid at the desk barely gave us the time of day and just took our keys.
