Ethos Hotel, Oxford
A miss!! Stay for 1 night if desperate.
My room was at the top of 3 flights of stairs. The room was okay but as I went to open the window because it was stuffy, I found a dead bee and another one dying. BEES!! The carpet needed to be vacuumed; so bring your slippers. The water pressure makes it better to take a bath than a shower and will soak you at the sink. It was modern about 15 to 20 years ago. The Ikea microwave oven was dirty and did not work. I told the "reception" about the bees and lack of milk in my room for tea. I was assured it would be addressed. Someone removed one of the bees when I was gone and I had to go to breakfast and bring up a glass of milk for my tea. I was told that only housekeeping had the milk, which meant housekeeping did not come in my room both days!! The outlets worked in the evening but mysteriously the same outlet stopped working in the morning!! WHAT!! The location is residential and alright. Whenever I took a cab I was charged completely different prices and had to pay in cash because they are back in the 20th century! There is no Uber because why make it convenient and accountable to your customers. Who walks around with cash for an ever moving target of a cab fare????!!! It motivated me to walk instead. The breakfast was all cold items. I was never offered a hot breakfast, if it was available. The staff seem personable enough but they have to work on doing their jobs well instead of personality. If nothing else is available then it will do for a night.

Comfortable and convenient
Ethos Hotel was perfectly comfortable and accommodating, but nothing that will change your life. The bathroom could’ve used a closer cleaning, but nothing major. The staff are in the cafe across the street and were very nice and friendly. We also appreciated the taxi request app in the foyer. Easy walk into town, and easy taxi request for the bus station!

Could Use A Wash! But Close.
Great location without being downtown Oxford. Western Road narrowest road ever driven down. ZERO parking on street; pay upfront for 1 of 4 parking spots! Place could use THOROUGH CLEANSING.
