      Ok Stay
I like the area as it is close to Mt. Rushmore as well as alot of the other attractions. The only thing is the beds were very little, hard and very uncomfortable. I came home with a major neck pain and back. Also the room was clean enough for a 1 night stay. If I had to do more then that I would not choose this hotel again. We have stayed here in the past and it was a lot nicer. This time there were dead bugs all around the bathroom, and by the door area as well as behind the small table in room and around the sink area on floor. So they vacuum but not the corners or borders of the rooms. The breakfast area we came down around 8:15 and it was so packed full of people and there was no food left. So we had to go into town and buy breakfast. This hotel needs a upgrade, as well as some staff are not as friendly as others. As a travel agent I would not recommend this hotel to any of my clients.

The place was old and run down, in desperate need of a paint job. The old Travel Lodge signage was visible on the exterior. The clerk was swatting flies in the lobby. The pool and hot tub had been drained and were poorly boarded up-an eye sore. There was a birds nest at the top of the stairs to our 2nd floor room. There was no refrigerator (I asked and refrigerators were only in the 1st floor units, no units available to switch.) No microwave. The smallest coffee pot in history. They had an old built in wall unit air conditioner which didn’t work. The newer unit was situated above the bathroom mirror and not accessible. I was told to use the remote and if it didn’t work to open up the fuse box and flip the switch. Obviously no one on site to address that issue. It eventually worked. The only outdoor space was a chair outside your door in the hallway. The breakfast was really bad!!! Yucky sweet rolls and frozen waffles with no portable syrup. Seating in the breakfast area was 8-10 at most. Twice no one at desk, but a sign out that said they had stepped away. I really was disappointed and should have changed my reservation for the second night.
