Relieved!
We booked this hotel prior to lockdown for a festival we were due to attend which was obviously cancelled. We were given a voucher for the value of our stay that we had to book by the end of 2021. Having read the mixed reviews leading up to our rescheduled stay, we were sceptical and hesitant about how it was going to be. Honestly, we were so relieved and annoyed at the negative reviews we had read. The staff were polite and helpful and the room was fine. We were out and about for the majority of our stay (Old Street is just a 10-12 minute walk) and the times we were in the room, we were comfortable. We stayed in a room that had a partially low ceiling which wasn’t fully ideal but it wasn’t a deal breaker. Would definitely recommend this hotel! The couple of things we would note is that there was no full length mirror in the room for anybody that must have one. And possibly could have done with an extra pillow but that is all really. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again!

Semen stains on bedsheets
Absolutely awful stay. Arrived to check-in and was met with the person at the front desk gossiping away to their collegue. Eventually when they got to me the first thing he said after asking me name was "deposit", they didn't accept American Express so had to pay by debit card. After getting the keys to my room I was greeted by FRESH SEMEN STAINS on the sheets as well as discolouration on the duvet. I immediately went downstairs and requested a new room, before my fellow guest came. At dinner time I ordered takeaway however I was lacking cutlery. I went down to ask the kitchen for a pair of knifes and fork and was so rudely rejected by the chef implying that it's his silverware and I could take it and not return it. Outrageous to think that even. I complained behind the desk and luckily they had spares (which were unwashed), but I had to make do. To add, there were no spare pillows, no extra towels, no toiletry whatsoever, and when we asked for extra pillows we were told the hotel was fully occupied which was clearly a lie as the room given previously to me was empty. Check out was easy and quick... The only good thing about the place.

Informal night out in Hoxton
Great location, warm welcome and comfy bed, and you can grab a good cooked breakfast next door from the cafe. My room had a fridge. Good quality showers and decor. My second trip and it’s my fave place to stay when partying in Hoxton. Fairly priced. Book ahead, very busy at weekends.

DO NOT STAY!
WORST EXPERIENCE ! I have never written a review, but I just had to share this time. The pictures on the website look NOTHING like the real room...dark & gloomy, un-cleaned kitchen and washing machine, thin wall you can hear everything, shower barely any water. The manager asked us to change the room, but all the rooms were in the SAME condition. We were so uncomfortable that we decided to check out after 2 nights, instead of staying 12 nights. We asked the manager for a partial refund, but they refused by insisting "it is non-refundable". They were not understanding, not accommodating, very disappointed with everything.
