Great hotel in good location
WiFi was good. I had a room by the elevator which worried me but it was relatively quiet. The hotel has stuff you can borrow too, like an umbrella or nail clippers. The bed was firm which I like and there was coffee and tea and a kettle in the room. The only weird thing is that the window was blacked out with a curtain covering it so it must face a wall or something. Overall I had a great 2 day stay. Convenient to the train and buses.

There is a reason it is cheap
The rooms are tiny. The bed just about fits in to the room Hotel is in an alleyway and hard to find

Convenient location but uncomfortable rooms
The location was good, close to shops and food in every direction! BUT I would recommend to find a DIFFERENT hotel that's nearby with A/C-Heat unit you can actual control. To be frank, I just wasn't happy or comfortable at this hotel. I didn't fly thousands of miles to be uncomfortable. My reason for never staying here again is because of the following reason: Every floor has centralized A/C or Heating units, even though every room had it's own thermostat and was a mini split A/C unit. Meaning - If a majority of rooms on a given floor is using heat, you can't use A/C and vice versa. We found out the hard way. My fiance and I called the front desk to request for the A/C when they told us to open our window. We told them our window was locked, then the front desk said he'd come unlock it. Upon unlocking our window he tells us "Be careful. Very dangerous" --- seriously?. So anyways, he leaves the room and we decide to look outside the window. There was no view instead we had a view of what seemed like the cavity of the elevator shaft, cold, metal, gray, with pipes and drippy wet noises -- not ideal whatsoever. To keep this story short, the front desk didn't care if we were hot or felt uncomfortable. Their only remedy was to open that dangerous window where things can crawl in. And only on the last day when we were checking out did the A/C function turn back on. We had to deal with the warm temperature a whole 3 days and I could not wait to check out.

Fantastic Stay!
The Hotel Gran was our favorite of the three hotels we stayed at during our recent trip to Japan. First and foremost - it was an amazing value. It's be tough to get a room at a Super 8 off of a freeway in the US for less than the Gran was. more importantly, it was really nice and comfortable! You never know what you're going to get when you book a cheap hotel. They're pretty strict with their check-in time but they will happily hold your bag until 3pm when you can check in. The bed and pillows were really comfortable and our room had a really powerful shower - not more much you can ask for in a hotel than a solid bed and shower. On top of the great room and value - it is in a perfect location. I highly recommend the bakery around the corner for breakfast. Not a single complaint about the Hotel Gran - great room, location and friendly staff. Highly recommend!
