Exceptional 10.0
A pleasant place in CDMX
Querencia is in Roma, a walkable safe area of the city. The owners and staff are great, the place can be a bit quirky but in a good way. Whenever I visit CDMX, I stay for at least a few nights.

Funky and fun
Funky converted family house in a convenient location. Subway station is a few blocks away. The room had a few items (towel rack, window shade) that needed repair. Rooms have little soundproofing and door locks are ancient, but charming. Rooftop patio is amazing, but narrow staircase to get to it is a little scary. Neighborhood is a little rough, but we felt safe. Breakfast each morning was lovely and it was fun to visit with the other guests. Fernando was very helpful and friendly, but Miguel could be grumpy. Housekeeping and cook staff were great.

It's in a great location .... quiet in the immediate area of the guest house, but within walking distance of really good restaurants and places to visit. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful.

Bug bites in bed, dirty sheet, no front desk
HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Extremely unclean: sheet unchanged from last guest (hairs, debris on bed under pillow before we sleep), moldy bathroom, cockroach and bed insects that bite and made me and my husband itchy all night! (I'm writing this 4am after being traumatized by all the bites!) Underbed area is dusty and full of debris when we checked to source our big bites! NO FRONT DESK at this property. Nobody is there to answer any questions or address any things. FWIW, they didn't even check us in yet! Seriously nobody is here to even complain about the situation. Called hotels.com yesterday and they were not able to reach the property. Since it's billed by the property(I wouldn't call it a hotel), they contacted the property manager or owner, and Mr Fernando here declined in a message (no way to respond to since its through hotels.com system and we don't have access to a computer and hence no web version access) our early checkout request and asked us to be specific about what went wrong and emphasized their "daily house cleaning".. Really? Very poor communications. I'm traumatized, upset, disappointed and feeling robbed. My husband and I have decided to leave first thing in the morning. It's better to sacrifice money than dealing with all the bed microsms any longer. Worst lodging experience in my entire travel experience in central and south americas. I'm sharing my experience so you wouldn't make my mistake. Look elsewhere!

A nice place, not for guests with mobility problems (steep stairs), terrace room on top floor was great except it was next to a communal kitchen used until late by other guests. Breakfast was good except served a bit too late...Helpful managers.
