Enjoyed three nights...
There is new management, and lots of details are still being tweeked - but it was an amazing room - looking out on a field at sunrise - comfortable and clean bed, stunning tub AND shower... very roomy, nice amenities. The family running the inn is sweet and accommodating. There's not much nearby; a car is a must!! And things close down early in those parts. Didn't eat there so I can't comment on the food, but we were happy and got a true taste of being out in the country. The birds, stars and peace were all heavenly.

Cozy and authentic
This little B&B was cozy and idyllic. Most B&Bs I have stayed at have shared bathrooms, so having a private bathroom was a plus. The staff was so kind and helpful. Alice and David are the best! The food was fantastic.

Overnight stop
Booked as a stop off on way home as near Longleat. Room was beautiful & very comfy. Staff were very friendly. Food was pub grub but was good to be able to eat on site rather than venture out.

Ok but needs work
We had 2 nights booked saturday/sunday. On arrival after a day at Longleat we parked up in the on site car park. Walking into the pub the bar lady welcomed us and showed us up to our room. The room was spacious but a little tired. Plenty of room for a family of four. We chose the SA due to its proximity to Longleat. We unpacked the car and had a better chance to see the room. In line with others sentiments the room wasn't spotless but wasn't dirty. I took the kids downstairs to see the dogs again. The owner then filled me in on the live band night that evening. Originally planned to be outside but relocated inside due to weather. We had intended to eat at the Somerset Arms that evening after being out all day but by around 7 pm the bar was already full and the few available tables had already gone. We gave up trying to get served and opted for a supermarket run as the kids were knackered. The bar is connected to the rooms via an open stairwell so there is nothing to reduce the bar noise reaching the rooms. When the band kicked in it was fully audible. The kids were so knackered they fell asleep anyway, but the mrs and I had to listen for the full set till 11pm. After that there was still a load of noise so it wasn't a great nights sleep. We ate at the Mendip Inn the following night, highly recommended. We didn't try the SA food due to the other reviews. The owners are friendly but there is definitely room for improvement. I wouldn't have booked if I'd known about the band.
