Nice secluded resort by the beach !!!
We would like to said that we really enjoyed our stay at the this resort. It is a very quite location on directly on the beach. Being from Canada it was the perfect place to get away from the cold. The staff were very helpful. The rooms were clean, the pool and the Jacuzzi were also great. Since this not an all inclusive resort there is no alcohol or snack. But it is an all meals included resort. So everyday we had a nice Dominican lady, "Carmen" cook us great meals at the hours that were convenient for us. We enjoyed the tranquility of the location and will definitely look to return.

Buyer beware!
This hotel is not a resort, not an all inclusive it is more like a bed and breakfast. They have a few apartments and are verupy outdated. There is no arcade or spa or anything they advertise. We stayed for a nite and asked for our money back it almost ruin our vacation! It is far from everything you will feel like in prison! Please dont stay there unless you are fleeing on in hiding! And do not bring your kids unless you are punishing them!

The Beachcomber hotel
We loved our stay at the Beachcomber hotel. The beach is completely empty most of the time, it has nice waves for the people that like to do water sports, we spent most of our time on the pool, jacuzzi, and beach, the place also has a tennis court/basketball court, a pool table, and ping pong table. The food cooked by Carmen was really nice, the manager Luis and the staff were very friendly. Luis gave us really good info about good tours and places to visit, If you are interested in a good night life, Cabarete is only 15-20 minutes away, but if you want to relax and have a peaceful stay, The Beachcomber is the perfect place! We would come back again any time!

We loved our stay at the Beachcomber!
We had a wonderful relaxing stay for a week at the Beachcomber all inclusive resort. Grounds and facilities are beautiful, comfortable and meticulously cared for by the friendly and helpful staff. We particularly enjoyed playing tennis, basketball, & disc golf, followed by boogie boarding, swimming in the pool, and relaxing in the huge jacuzzi. We had wonderful and inspiring walks along the beach, which is accessible for more than 3++ km in both directions -- we had most all of the beach to ourselves but we were also happy to see a few friendly fishermen, crab catchers, and local children further down the beach. The water conditions were great for swimming and body-surfing / boogie boarding all day, but especially in the morning, when wind conditions were more calm, and the water glassy. There are excellent surf breaks directly in front of the Beachcomber, with a couple of the keen local surfers taking full advantage of the extra good days of offshore-storm-related surf conditions. The fishermen were successful in netting various edible fish as well as gathering some large blue and spider crabs. It was fascinating to see the fishermen launching their small boat and paddling out through the shore break at dawn, hoisting their primitive blue tarpaulin sail and heading out to the fishing grounds, returning hours later with their catch. Las Canas is a special unaffected quiet location. For most of the day and night, you just hear the surf on the beach, the wind in the palms

dont waste your money
place is beautiful and beach is lovely. That being said, the hotel staff is lazy. They live on site and pretty much work when they want. You can go forever waiting for them to serve drinks. The food schedule is never consistent. You can go up to 7 or 8 hours in between meals. They don't even have a sign to help you get there. Finding the place is a hassle.

you get what you pay for
this place is not all it's cracked up to be. The staff basically lives on site and work when they want. There are no tv' sin the room and sometimes the food is not enough. The staff is nice but way to laced. They need to step it up.

Quiet and on the beach
Spent 4 days over Christmas holidays with wife in a two bedroom suite. Great views of the beach from our room. We arrived between lunch and dinner and had to ask more than once for some fruit to tie us over to dinner. For the price; the food was good. If you are looking for a place to relax with only a few other folks around, this is your place.
