Foundry Suites, Buffalo
I Wish My Apartment were this nice
We had to come to Buffalo for family health reasons just 5 days after I donated a kidney to my friend. I needed somewhere super comfortable because I was (and am still) In a lot of pain. I chose Foundry because of the location- close to my friends in Elmwood Village, and to my parents in Kenmore just north of the city. I was totally blown away by the "room"- more like a gorgeous industrial apartment that is HUGE. (This would be my DREAM apartment in New York, or anywhere really). The bed was heaven, and so so comfortable for my achey recovering body, parking is easy. It was great to have a separate bedroom so my boyfriend could hang out/work on his laptop without disturbing me while sleeping. I would totally live in that room. The area is not developed yet but everything else is so close it doesn't really matter. No one walks in Buffalo anyway. Caffe Aroma and Spot Coffee are just a 7 minute drive, Nye Park Tavern is a block away and has great food and ambience, Buff State and the Albright Knox Art Museum are just a few blocks away. I will definitely be staying here next time I am in town. TINY suggestion to the hotel- The coffee cups are smaller than what the Keurig dispenses, so they kept overflowing:) Need some kitchen towels or paper towels because food prep/eating gets messy That's it! Fabulous otherwise.

Reminiscent of cheesy condos made in the heyday of the 2007 real estate bubble that they couldn’t sell in 2008. Instead, changed into a wedding venue. Is it a hotel? Far from it. No service. I mean, NO service, even with the MAID SERVICE tag they provide you with to put on your door to signal them that you would like your room made up. The breakfast is horrible (a couple servings of cereal, and one bowl only to eat it in, so if there are two of you, well, you’ll just have to wait.) The coffee maker hardly works, and forget about watching TV because the remote hardly works, unless you spend an hour trying to get it to work. The sink I could not get to let the water out of, they provide shampoo but no conditioner, and sleeping was really difficult with the very loud and visually imposing huge aluminum HVAC tube towering over your head like some industrial nightmare of a 2007 dream of a loft that nobody wanted to buy. It’s not a hotel, it’s a party venue for weddings, which they try to sell as a hotel on the off-days. But they don’t tell you that, I had to find that out the hard way — Expedia should not be allowed to sell these rooms as if they are hotel rooms. At best, it is an airbnb with all the surprises airbnbs come with. I’d like a credit for being duped into booking this place, because they misrepresented it.

If you like an industrial vibe, Foundry Suites might be the place for you. We liked the atmosphere, but there was weirdness that kept us from fully relaxing. The shower/tub, for one. If you are under 5’5, you will have a hard time climbing in and out, as the tub is very deep. Also, the sofa in our room was broken, making the living room area of the suite unusable. The cream in the coffee area of our room was rancid. We might have spent time in the bar/pool table area, but a private party was being held there, as we were rudely told by a partygoer, and we were not welcome. What was sold to us as an amenity if the hotel was off limits to us All in all, Foundry Suites was okay, but for the money we paid, I expected far more.

I decided to stay in a different place, i was the pictures in website; and truth is that the Foundry suites is an incredible place to stay. So different than the other hotels, nice building, very nice room. Phillip, at front desk, helped me with information and things to do and visit in Buffalo. recommended to everyone!

Amazing space!
Freat place except for a little street noise. We'd stay there again. We got in late and the hotel staff recommended we eat at Dapper Goose which was excellent!
