Be Careful Which Room You Book
When they say twin room, they mean it. My husband and I were surprised to find that we had booked a room with twin bunkbeds and no windows. Considering how much we payed, I was expecting something a little larger, but as it turns out, the description was totally accurate. Be mindful of this when you book! You might end up with a twin! The real draw here is the location, which is perfectly located in the Alfalma district and within short walking distance of the metro and train. Easily walkable with luggage as well. Fortunately the staff was EXTREMELY nice and accommodating, giving us a new room with a larger bed on our second night.

It was ok
This hotel started off frustrating because we couldn’t get there. The streets were blocked off except to locals. We had to park at s train station and take a 10 euro taxi to the place. Thr guy checking is in didn’t really have any suggestions for what to do in the area. The room was interesting. Three levels. My kids loved having a loft. The area grew on us but there was a lot of trash on the streets nearby. I’m not sure I would stay here again even though my kids loved it.

Amazing place
This place is amazing! The house is so cool and the rooms and patios are fantastic. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They helped us book a taxi early in the morning. The coffee was a little to "weak":). Swedes really like strong coffee.

Unique hotel in Alfama
There are pros and cons to this hotel. The space is small and the are awkward stairs to the bedroom and bathroom that could be difficult for some. The rooms were clean although getting old. There is a charm to the hotel since it is old and unique. The staff is extremely helpful. The Alfama district is the old town, so the architecture is beautiful. However, the cruise ships dock nearby so the area is very touristy. At night, the noise heard from the room was much less than I expected. We didn't have any trouble sleeping on a Thursday and Friday night.

Clean, beautiful and centrally located
Great hotel in a great location. Susana is really nice and helpful. The hotel is walking or "hand" distance from everything. We never used taxis, trams or anything and walked everywhere. Lisbon is probably best seen that way. We didn't do any tours so walking and meandering down streets helped stumble upon things we might have missed. The room itself isn't particularly special. If you're planning on spending your time in your room, this isn't the hotel for you. However, the courtyard and breakfast areas are great and it took us about 15-25 minutes to walk to all the major locations we wanted to get to.
