The grounds... relaxing
The ground was beautiful! It was a great place to relax after a hard day in the office. The food on offer was good. However, to access the internet was a challenge. The staff were great.

Charming colonial setting
While Harare is pretty much in complete disrepair, the Bronte is an oasis of tranquility and proof of much better past days.

I had been teaching in Cairo,Egypt for three weeks. In addition to the weather being very hot and dry, I had been staying in a very rundown part of the city. My wife made me and my business associate a reservation at the Bronte because she thought I needed to stay somewhere nice for a couple of days before continuing my tour in Zimbabwe. I was wonderful.

First trip back in 35 years…
I grew up in Harare, and this was my first visit back since I left to go to university. I had anticipated many changes, but I really wasn't ready for the reality. The Bronte reminded me of a grande old lady who was just a little past her prime—obviously in her day she was glorious, but despite being clean, and tidy there is clearly some deferred maintenance. And relative to the city, The Bronte was a lovely safe haven at the end of every day.

Great garden, comfortable rooms
There for work for the week and it was comfortable, a good price, and with a gorgeous garden to sit and work in at the end of the day. No complaints!
