Great stay at a GEM of hotels in KDH on the OBX!
Entire Shutters on the Banks staff were so friendly and welcoming.!! Greeted a with birthday card at check in , along with Happy Bithday on their Shutters sign! All areas of this charming hotel were very clean and maintained. Lovely indoor pool, too. Nice exesize room as well! Very clean and nicely decorated rooms in Tower Bldg , Great full breakfast availble everyday. Private beach with gazebo is so nice. Ideal locaion to enjoy all of the OBX ! Looking forward to another stay at this wonderful hotel next February!! Thanks to all!

Boring and inconvenient.
The elevator didn't work so we had to schlep our bags up 3 flights of stairs. My husband was tired from driving all day and his knee isn't in great shape and while they did let us know ahead of time (they said, I never got the message) I think they should have reduced the price or offered to help us. Nice big clean room with a view of the ocean, but it isn't a very interesting view. Just the water, and an expanse of flat marshy land in front. No big waves hitting against the rocks. No rocks. Very few birds, no ships. Not a beautiful view, not romantic, not worth the cost.
