Wonderful hotel!
This hotel was so wonderful! My husband got very sick and the hotel was extremely accommodating in extending our reservation seamlessly. Very caring staff, and nice hotel.

Skip Chamonix, stay in Argentiere
This central hotel is my favorite in Argentiere -- an easily reachable neighbor town to Chamonix. For a small town feel with all the services (tourist office, frequent buses, frequent trains, grocery store, sports supply stores, boot stores, cafes, restaurants, bars, lectures, concerts, walks, festivals) this town close to the Swiss border has everything. Skip the crowds of Chamonix. The restaurant has good wines and a fabulous beef menu (beef cheeks.....) along with other regional favorites. Breakfast at the hotel is plentiful and varied. Nearby patisserie and regional foods shops for snacks and lunches. Staff were wonderful for us and helped arrange (and explain) transport options. Ask for the transport card which hotel clients can use for free train and bus travel in the valley

Heritage charm and modern comfort.
This hotel combines heritage charm and modern comfort. Impeccable, great location and very friendly staff willing to make your stay a memorable one. You can't ask for more. I went with my two daughters for a three-day ski trip. I could park the car in the area. Lovely lobby and common areas.

Good view, comfortable, old building
Excellent view out the room window and friendly staff (front desk staff were fluent in English too which was great for me) The building is old and so fairly creaky but it didn't bother me and added to the historic charm of the place. The bed was comfortable and I slept well.

Great views, friendly staff.
While the rooms are a bit old, as is the hotel, this can be expected and even appreciated since this hotel has allegedly been in the family since the year 1865. The bed was very soft and old, but after a long day of hiking I slept great. There is a popular bar across the street which was a bit loud at night, but this is balanced with the fantastic views out the front window. Definitely ask for a room that faces the main street. The location is excellent; walking distance to a numbers of hikes, restaurants, and other things to do. The staff was great and checkin and checkout were super easy and fast. Despite any criticisms I had, I would definitely stay here again. Very friendly staff and excellent location.
