My Bankahaus Review
First impressions arriving at the hotel was good. Location great but later found this location was quite a noisy area so if you’re looking for a quite nights sleep, you’ll struggle. The hotel looked a little tired and was a shame the Japanese Restaurant within no longer operated.
Greeted at the hotel reception by a young chap. I checked in and directed up to my room on the first floor. The room was a good size with a raised bed area, small table, a chair and a little tea coffee area with mini fridge. Also had an on-suite. And a small wardrobe. A TV but only Turkish channels.
I also noticed a small safe under the raised bed area which was great but it was locked. I couldn’t but notice the incredibly strong damp odour and smell from the loo! I had open the windows to get rid of the smell and air the room.
I quickly found out the odours were to return because although the en-suite had an extractor fan, it didn’t work, hence the continuing damp smell. The other bad odours seem to emanate when the other toilets flushed in the other rooms which wasn’t very pleasant for obvious reasons.
With regards to s to the safe, as mentioned it was locked. I asked several times if it could be opened but they said they would every time but never did. So I had to walk around with all my personal belongings which wasn’t the most comfortable thing to do for a week.
The best part of my stay was, the mattress was comfortable and the sheets were clean.
no hot water on morning of checkout.
