Good6.0
eccentric refurbished bungalow turned hotel
The place was well situated away from the noisy street. It was a bungalow of some rich guy turned into a hotel. It has an interesting collection of restored antique furniture, dodgy pool left over from it golden days, german prints of christian vignettes that was popular in the 40s or 50s. the room was spacious, with safe, fridge, telly, table and sofa. the toilet was clean and color co-ordinated. the staff were friendly and helpful. breakfast was sausage, egg and toast with coffee/tea or juice. not substantial but adequate. i managed two portions on the second day as I was really hungry. it's just next to a neighbourhood mall and the bangkok business centre. it has many interesting shops along the main road and a giant mall filled with japanese shops, cafes and restaurants. a famous chain of Tsukemen is also next to the BTS station Ekkamai - so that gives u a sense of the neighbourhood's hip quotient. the walk to the station was pleasant but a tad long on a hot afternoon. if u want a quiet sanctuary away from the maddening crowd? this is something worth considering.
