About The Marlton Hotel, New York

Stylish West Village hotel with free breakfast, espresso bar

Near Washington Square

Elegant and charming, The Marlton Hotel places you in the creative West Village, a block from Washington Square Park and NYU. Restaurants and unique shops abound, while the West Fourth Street and Eighth Street subway stops, each within 3 blocks, will zip you all over the city.

Urban oases and markets

The Chelsea Market, a 20-minute walk, is a foodie's paradise, and just beyond is the entrance to the elevated oasis, The High Line. It's a 17-minute walk to Italian food emporium Eataly, which is just off lovely Madison Square Park and the striking Flatiron Building.

Hip drinking and dining

You can set yourself up for a busy day exploring the city with breakfast (surcharge) or a stop at the stylish espresso bar. The buzzy restaurant Margaux serves inventive seasonal fare, while the classic cocktail bar is popular among in-the-know New Yorkers. A complimentary breakfast is also served.

Small luxuries, free WiFi

With brass fixtures, crown moldings, and herringbone-patterned wood floors, the compact guestrooms have a boho-chic flair; beds are layered with custom linens and faux-fur blankets. Rooms also include free WiFi and LED TVs, and Côté Bastide bath products add a touch of luxury.

Romantic and relaxing staycation
Stayed here for a staycation. Perfect location near some of the best restaurants and night life in town. We started our evening with creative cocktails at the hotel bar and ended with another round by the fire in the lounge by the lobby. Rooms are very tiny, but they and the hallways smell so fresh and the lobby is scented by the delicious coffee bar that you don't even notice.

It’s getting too crowded!!
I have been staying at the Marlton for some time and I have always enjoyed it. Having said this, the NYU students have absolutely taken over the downstairs lobby and bar area and even though there are signs saying the tables are reserved for guests , good luck getting one. They don’t budge and frankly it’s awkward asking them to. I don’t think the guests should have to deal with a hot, overcrowded lobby and bar area full of college students using the admittedly rocket fast WiFi. This hotel needs to decided who they service, hotel guests or students. I dont think they can do both and expect people to return. Shame... it’s a cool old turn of the last century hotel and it has a great history.

Perfect for short NYC visit
I chose the Marlton since it was near the places I planned to visit on this trip. My only complaint is - as other reviews have mentioned - the lobby and bar area were constantly filled with locals. This made it a non-starter for me as a solo traveler. Too much noise and no room to get away from the crowd. But otherwise it was fine. The rooms are on the small side, but I was hardly there, there's too much to do in the area.

Loved the Marlton - Can't Wait To Return
The staff was very helpful for my every need - restaurant suggestions, flowers, car service, etc. Loved the lobby, bar and in-house restaurant.

Great location and comfort with a NY attitude
Yes, it's SMALL but a solid place you can't beat for location and price. The staff range from wonderful to flat of affect - hard to tell what you're gonna get. It would be nice at this price if they at least pretended to love their jobs. I suppose it's the New York way to act indifferent.
