Needs some work
We stayed for 4 nights and got maid service once. Some would call the hotel charming, but it’s really just old and worn and desperately needs updating, especially the bathroom. However, the location is fabulous. We were there for Summerfest and could walk to the festival grounds. Not sure if I would stay here again.

Beautiful. Clean. Vintage.
This was our first time visiting Milwaukee and not only did we fall in love with the city, but we fell in lock with The Knickerbocker. We are already planning our next stay! Beautiful. Clean. Vintage!

Great location and on the waterfront.
Great location for Summerfest. Neighborhood setting, nice bar/ restaurant. Our room was great, a small efficiency with a nice bed. We would love to stay there again.

Affordable stay
The location of this hotel was awesome and it was very affordable for the area. I only have a couple of complaints. They did not tell us that parking passes were an additional amount, they just asked if we wanted them and added them to the bill. I’m fine with parking being extra but they should have told us that parking didn’t come with the room so that we could make an informed decision about whether we wanted it. There was plenty of street parking so if I had known they were charging us $40 I would have opted for that. The room was clean, but the bedding was a little shabby. The pillows were really lumpy for example. Another issue we had was that the mini fridge stopped working and our food started to get warm. We asked for ice so we could keep it cool for the last night, but they didn’t have any. The only thing they offered was for them to keep the food for us over night.

Dichotomy
Some parts of the room were updated, others were cheap. For instance the towel racks were old plastic and the shower head was cheap. The countertop conversely was granite and looked great. The bead was great, but the kitchenette was pretty cheap. The service was good from the day shift person, the morning/night front desk person was rude. The location was great.
