A Unique Experience
This bed and breakfast is quiet and convenient. It has free parking and is close to the airport. Coming in from a day of hassle and travel, it was very nice to be greeted promptly by the owner and to find a quiet retreat so close to the airport. The owners are gifted gardeners, and the back terrace is beautiful. They have plentiful grapevines and a fruit-producing crab apple out front. They put flower petals on the pillows and in vases around the sitting area. There is a fridge with cold drinks, and an area to make tea and coffee. Breakfast is a four-course extravaganza with a different menu and dishware every day. Come prepared with an appetite! I admit, you do have to be prepared for a unique experience, however. The owner likes to chat you up, and the overall atmosphere is very intimate, both with the owner and the other guests. It's worth noting that private bathroom may be across the hall or all the way down the hall from your room. The room is small, so you may want to use the common sitting area where other guests may wander by in their bathrobes to use the facilities or the owner may stop by to chat. So be prepared to socialize any time you step outside your room.

Excellent Stay!
During our stay at the Stone Hedge Bed and Breakfast, we enjoyed excellent amenities, food and hospitality. The royal suite that we stayed in had a nice flat screen TV and an extremely comfy bed with brandy on the night stand. The suite and its surrounding rooms were very clean and well maintained. Brian, our host, was very knowledgeable about Vancouver and the surrounding cities. He was nice enough to drop us off in Steveston while also giving us a quick rundown of its unique history. What was more impressive, however, was the breakfast. Breakfast at The Stone Hedge was as incredible as it was endless; fresh coffee, tea, muffins, homemade marmalade from their own grape vines, and eggs made to order all while sitting out by the pool in a beautiful yard. What really made our stay a memorable one was the friendliness of our hosts, who welcomed a couple of yankees into their home, and truly made us feel like family.

We stayed in the Safari room, separate from the house, and it was quite comfortable. The breakfast was delicious and Brian, the owner, is a wealth of knowledge aboud the local history.
