Quaint B&B
I originally chose this place in order to mix up from my usual lodging choices which I'm glad I did. This area is good for Chinese food. I made the walk from near the Richmond Centre is 35 minutes but I think that there is a bus that one can take if the walk is unappealing. The proprietor might also be willing to shuttle you but I didn't test that out until the next morning when I was schlepped to the airport. The proprietor is a wealth of information about the rooms, local area, and varieties of tea, among other things offered things that I would be too shy to ask or wouldn't even think to ask but which shaped my opinion of the local area in a positive way. The breakfast served tended to be on the sweeter side but was A-OK for this American. The service was impeccable so I have zero complaints here. In fact, if one has a complaint about the B&B that isn't rectified, I dare say that it is because it was not brought to the proprietor's attention. The safari room was quite comfortable. The bed was of medium firmness with soft pillows. The bathroom was shower only so for those who prefer a bath, one of the other rooms would be the choice for that. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment over other choices in the area and would definitely stay here again. Supporting small business is easy when one has experiences like the one that I had here.

Hidden Jewell
Stone Hedge is a quaint little B&B nestled in the heart of Richmond, close to shopping and dining. The owners are friendly, and work hard to make you feel like you are at home. Guest rooms are immaculate, each decorated in its own theme. Mornings they serve a five-star quality breakfast, and evenings they offer turn-down service complete with little chocolates and cookies. What more could you want?

As a business traveler, I occasionally stay at a local B&B when either hotel rates are unreasonably high (conventions, high occupancy, etc.) or just for a change in pace from the big brands. Stone Hedge Inn was private, in a quiet neighborhood, had a gated parking area and was generally very satisfactory. Very nice people, too. Full, serviced breakfast, and plenty of attention. The "Safari" room was a separate little house in the back yard accessed via a walkway around a somewhat imposing, but not unpleasant, main house. Yard, house, walkways all with clad with stone clad; high hedges and a big pool in the center that is not heated in the winter. The little house was cozy with a gas fire place on end side with 2 easy chairs and a TV up on corner of wall. Cabinet with coffee/tea/treats and tiny table between chairs. Sled bed behind chairs was comfortable and had a table with light, alarm clock, and small carafe of brandy for night cap. Sliding door leads into small stone clad bathroom with shower. Good wifi, but (and this is not a critique) as a business traveler, no table or straight chair for a work space. Landlord and his wife were attentive nearly to a fault, but overall stay of 3 nights was very satisfactory.

Wonderful B&B
Brian & Linda were genuine, lovely and funny hosts. Their attention to detail points to their long experience making travelers feel welcome. Linda's delicious breakfast took me 1 1/2 hours to consume! Her homemade jellies were a delight. I look forward to staying there again next time I'm in Vancouver. I felt so comfortable in The Safari Room cottage.

Nice Choice, Close to Vancouver Airport
We stayed in the Royal Room, well decorated, comfortable bed, good wifi and TV. The Jacuzzi tub was across the hall for our exclusive use and was great. Breakfast was very good. The only real downside was that we like to sleep in on vacation and the 8:00 breakfast was a bit early. It was also served right outside our room and the noise began even earlier. Brian gave us a great recommendation for dinner, Stevenson Seafood, outstanding! Very convenient for getting to Vancouver Airport of the Ferries.
