Cheery and friendly
Cheery and clean room. Awesome service by Lee and David - gave us great suggestions on how to use train to get into the city and recommendations on local restaurants. Wonderful full hot breakfast.

noisy and light room
The room we stayed in was in the courtyard. It was pretty small. We found the room very noisy with floor boards squeaking above all night. All the walls seemed thin as we could hear other rooms. The curtains were so thin and the light right outside was on all night so the room was very bright. All in all we got next to no sleep! On the plus side the breakfast was great.

Ok if you don't need to sleep.
Awful noise from room above could hear every sound, poor radiators clanking all night and patio light on outside window all night. Good food, really good food and quick service considering 6 tables in use and only 1 lad serving.

A gem of an independent hotel in a great location
Our stay was a short overnight visit so we weren't looking for too much although we were pleasantly surprised. It is a smaller independent hotel which is to be encouraged in these days of anonymous chain hotels. The location is great - within sight of the sea front and a short walk into Mumbles and short drive into Swansea city centre. The hotel has ample car parking but don't quote me if there is a wedding on when I can imagine it will get very busy. The room was compact and bijou as well as clean and tidy. The annexe in which our room was located is in obvious need of a serious refurbishment - rotten window frames, outdated bathrooms, etc. but had been recently decorated and was pretty much up together. The room temperature fluctuated a bit and struggled against the outdoor elements to keep it comfortable. The room had a very small TV which is an observation not a criticism, as I wasn't really looking to view TV. There was plenty of hot water but flushing toilets in adjacent rooms made the room a bit too noisy at times. The mirrors were set at a height that discriminated against those of us taller than 6ft. Breakfast was excellent. A full cooked breakfast plus options for cereals, lovely fresh fruit, teas and coffee. I would, and probably will, stay there again.

Grumbles at the Mumbles
This was my fourth stay at the hotel which indicates that I like staying there. However, this time I was put in one the outlying building. The rooms were much smaller than the main house rooms. Also the sound of other guests talking, moving baout, snoring, using the bathroom etc did become rather intrusive although I didn't stop me having a good nights sleep. Next time I need to stay in the area I will insist on staying in the main house or go elsewhere. I didn't eat there in the evening but the breakfast was very good with a wide range of fruit, breads etc plus plenty of options of cooked breakfasts. The service and staff was excellent as usual.
