UNAHOTELS San Vitale Bologna, Bologna

I reserved a regular room online, when I went to the hotel the clerk gave me a handicap room. Handicap is smaller,no shower,bidet, etc. I called down to change my room and he put me on hold for 5 minutes and I hung up. I called back and I told him I did not order a handicap room and I want a regular room. He said they are sold out and that I can upgrade for 30 more euro to a bigger room, I argued with him for several minutes and magically he found a room. He also told me I need to pay 12 euro for parking, on the app it said parking was free. So more or less this clerk tried to charge me extra 82 euro for 2 night stay. Carpets were dirty,beds uncomfortable.I will not be coming back and would not recommend.

1. Wouldn't recommend, first the elevator to the garage wouldn't work, I was stuck downstairs in heat for 15 minutws with luggage,then they stick me in a handicap room which I didn't sign up for. I called down to complain and he put me hold for 5 minutes and I hung up. I called back again and he said they are full and for 30 more euros per night he will put me in a junior aweet. I said no and we argued for several minutes, I told him i am not going to pay more money, then "magically" he found me a non handicap regular room which I originally paid for. Handicap rooms are completely different, smaller and are missing shower, bedet, chairs,etc. He also tried to charge me 12 euro per night for parking when the app said free parking. I had to repack all my gear and was very tired. Also he encouraged me to park my $25k motorcycle in the front lot by a major street and told me it was safe, other staff disagreed. After a long hot drive on a motorcycle no one needs to put up with this nonsense and blantant overcharging. I would not recommend this hotel, plenty of hotels with great customer service in the area at the price I paid for. Breakfast was ok,hotel rooms were ok, carpet needs cleaning, ac only goes down to 20 c, mattress was uncomfortably firm, the rest of the staff are First and last time at a Unahotel, if I didnt stand up for myself I would be out 84 euro for a 2 night stay.

Modern hotel with great amenities. Short taxi to city center and close to a main autostrada/freeway. I was pleasantly surprised.

The AC didn’t work. They had several people come in to check it but just kept telling me it was fine and would turn on. It never did despite me telling them at least 4 times to 4 different people. Aside from that the hotel was nice.

Pretty good hotel at the outskirts of Bologna. The staff and property was really good with underground parking. You just need to ask about the underground garage but easily accessible just you would not know how to get to without asking the staff. There is not much around the hotel for food though, we found a restaurant which was about 1/2 mile away Which was really good food.
