The location of this hotel worked really well for me. It's only a 10 - 15 minute walk to the center of Bath so it's easy to go to & from all the sights: the Roman Baths, the Thermae Bath Spa, the Abbey, Jane Austin book/film related sights as well as great restaurants and fun shops. It's also only a 20 minute walk from the Bath Spa train station and the Southgate St bus station - longer if you walk all the way along the Avon. What I didn't know until I arrived was there are two wonderful parks, Henrietta Park and Sydney Gardens, both less than a five minute walk away from the hotel. It was so enjoyable to walk through them after being in the busier parts of town. My top floor room and bathroom were small but well-appointed and clean & comfortable. There's no elevator but the staff will help with luggage. The breakfast was good. My only complaint was the wifi on the top floor was hit & miss.

Decent, not perfect
I was leading a study abroad in the area and I found this hotel on hotels.com. I found it to be relatively good; however, I felt like there should’ve been some clarification on the website about laundry. They use a service that you have to send your laundry out for. It was 16 pounds in order to do one trash bag worth of laundry and that seems somewhat excessive. That said the location was great for visiting the Roman baths and I felt like it was a comfortable enough place for students. The breakfast was decent. The service was decent. You don’t spend a lot of time in the hotel when you go on these kinds of trips anyway. I think that it was one of those things where some more communication would’ve been helpful. But all in all it was better than many places I have been before.
