Hotel kita,
Upon check in the man was friendly, not so with the woman. Although the room was very clean and comfortable, I had requested by phone a quiet room and was put at the end of the hall overlooking a all night long busy street, along with having someone across the hall having visitors and speaking with his door open at 12:30am, then again at 5am, the latter not necessarily the hotels fault, but upon checking out that morning was told that guest had made trouble before. I would stay again due to the good price and room itself, but definitely check out the room and neighbors more carefully.

If you approach the hotel from the wrong angle it is hard to find the sign (it is right by the 7 eleven). The staff was friendly and they have a security guard at night to watch over hotel and guests. The room was clean with a decent tv, and working air conditioner. The door to the bathroom did not close properly and with the position of the bathroom you look directly at the toilet from your pillow. It was a five minute walk from the monorail and main train station, this allowed for convenient transportation to places like the batu caves and into town. The monorail is a scary journey, so I would suggest the train instead.

Not a 3 Star Hotel
Hotel Kita is NOT a 3-star hotel. It needs a serious deep scrub. ROOMS/CLEANLINESS: Our room was dirty: there was a piece of gum stuck to one of the walls about 12" above bed (how housekeeping did not see this boggles my mind), the walls were dirty, the shower was gross~ I wore flip flops the whole time. By gross, I mean mold spots on the tile around the toilet and thick mildew in the tile grout. In the common areas, it's well worn and needs a good cleaning as well. I probably could have stayed at a hostel and it would have been cleaner. LOCATION: Hotel Kita is in an okay area, about a 45 min walk to Bukit Bintang, or a 5 min walk to the Chow Kit and PWTC LRT stops. It's also blocks from the Chow Kit Market. The neighborhood has scores of homeless at night, and is grungy by day. We felt safe, but I think next time I'd stay somewhere else. STAFF: Wonderful, nice people. I especially liked the hotel security gaurd and the front desk staff. They are the only reason Hotel Kita is getting a 2 star review from me.

3 star showers. 2 star everything else.
Ok I hate slagging places off but I'm starting to doubt wether Hotels.com actually checks out properties before they add them to their website. This was almost the worst hotel I've been to, second only to a brothel/hotel in Vietnam. This place was was supposedly 3 star, and I was paying £11 a night here. This place should be £8 and 2 star. I'm sure the locals are paying even less than that. One piece of advice I can offer this place is invest in some new bedding. The sheets, pillow cases and blankets were grey when I arrived. Grey as in they had once been white but had discoloured over several years of overuse. On the plus side the shower rooms are fantastic.
