Great amenities, sketchy staff
Let me start by saying this is one of, if not the "nicest" hotel we've stayed at. The rooms were amazing, the lobby, restaurant, roof bar and pool were all pristine, and the location can't be beat. That said, I expect better behavior from staff and policies from "nice" hotels than we got there. One example is the exchange rate they offered for currency. A different hotel we stayed at gave one of the best exchange rates we saw, only slightly worse than what you'd get at a bank. Radisson gave, by far, the worst. 31 Baht/dollar while the actual exchange rate was between 34 and 35, and random exchange places on the street wouldn't offer anything less than 33. I understand paying for convenience, but this just felt like exploiting ignorance of foreigners. Another example, we were asked if we had already arranged a ride to the airport. We said no, and they said they had a "special rate" of 700baht. I asked three times if the vehicle would have enough room for the 5 of us and our bags and was assured that, yes, it would. When the time actually came to leave, a regular sized cab with 4 seats and a tiny trunk was waiting for us. Clearly, it wasn't going to work. So the Radisson staff member said they could call a van, but that that would cost 1500baht. When we said we'd just flag a cab off the street, they lied and said that would cost at least 2500. We instantly got one cab for 400, and another for 500. "Special rate" huh? I expect better from high end hotels than being fleeced.

Stop with the waste
Just my opinion, don’t shoot me. STILL OVERLOOKING WEAR AND TEAR. Not in a big way but this is a good hotel and to retain its stars it ought to be trying a little harder. Management might like to spend a little less time doing whatever it is they do, for example writing fatuous replies to reviews such as “looking forward to welcoming you again” and instead focus on the easy fixes in the rooms and common areas that could make this my favourite hotel again. It really is a great hotel though despite the 1 star view from the pool deck, staff always excellent and very appealing decor and facilities. As it’s in the current zeitgeist too, it might be time for all hotels to stop providing amenities in single use plastics but obviously this needs to come from the top and isn’t a crit of this particular hotel. The volume of waste generated is jaw dropping and unnecessary. The amount of value/worth saved through ending the use of plastic so wastefully could at the very least be used to improve amenity for valued customers by providing a reasonable amount of shower gel/shampoo/conditioner from reusable dispensers (it’s been done elsewhere). It’s all very well offering us the option of reusing bedding and towels but seems silly when the plastic overuse is so glaring, and in particular in Thai where there is now a serious problem with waste. As a hotel chain I really love and respect I’d hope Radisson might now take a lead on this issue. Rant over. Otherwise (nearly) as good as ever

Exceptional 10.0
I had come very early from my flight expecting to leave my bags and check in later and was told by the staff that I could check in if there was an available room - and there was. The was a bit of a problem with the room initially because the hot water didn't work - and I only found that out at 10 at night; the hotel was super quick about getting an engineer there and when he couldn't fix it, organized to have my room changed immediately. Room itself is comfortable and clean. Basic business room with a view and working surfaces, nice extras like Bluetooth enabled speakers and plenty of power plugs. Bed is soft and firm with multiple pillow options. Had a bathtub and a shower, hot water was quick and responsive with good water pressure. Toiletries provided. Room service was fast, and there was the option for extended checkout, which was fuss free. The cafe downstairs offers 50% cakes sometime in the evening! Location was great, a short walk away from Asok BTS, very convenient for getting to the malls. At peak hours, taxis or Grab were a bit difficult to get, but otherwise no issues. There was a 24 hour Family Mart just outside, which was convenient. Overall highly recommended due to their staff efficiency and friendliness!

Great Hotel for Sukhumvit
Checked into The Radisson Blue for a one night stay before a flight to Dubai. The hotel is a very modern high rise. My wife & I arrived 2 hours before check in but this wasn't a problem. We were allowed to check into our room & we were in it within 15 mins. The room was spacious, the air con very good & the wifi was strong in the room & throughout the hotel. The amenities in the room were all you could need. The bed was big, the bedding of an excellent quality ( my wife told me this) and possibly one of the most comfortable I've slept in.The bathroom was well appointed with all the amenities you could need. Both Bath & shower were very good, with plenty of hot water. We were in a business class room which gave us access to the business lounge on the 28th floor throughout the day, where you could enjoy complimentary, tea, coffee, soft drinks & snacks. There was a cocktail hour from 5.30 - 7.30pm which was well attended & very good. I was going to stay 2 nights in this hotel and now wish I had. It was a very good hotel to relax & unwind in after a 7 day stay in Yangon. I would recommend this hotel to everyone & I will certainly be staying there next time I'm in Bangkok.

Very Good 8.0
it's time to make it better
There is some wear and tear in the bathroom and pool area. u have to fix this minor things to call u self a 5 star hotel. bathroom area such as shower need to be fixed. I see dirt and it's getting old. and 1 other thing that bother me, my friends and other guest in the pool. your wifi range. fix it! we have to move to the bar area to get connected. this is a easy fix for you. 3 years and you still haven't fixed this yet. I also think it would be more convinient to move the bar closer to the pool. it's a bit far away. u could make it more cozier and people would appreciate u pool side better if it was closer. and I bet your selling profit would show a different number. my self I'm. lazy to go all the way to the bar. and u bartenders are so lazy. they should walk around and ask the guest if they want to buy something. no they just sit there and wait til we come. and other things to some of your bartender doesnt understand English so well. and your meny at the pool needs to fresh up better. more options. like feks a English visitor had to change hotel. because the bar at the pool doesn't have connection with the kitchen directly for her needs. I mean she's gluten allergic. Radisson hotel should or they mostly are flexible to this service options world wide. what happen to" yes I can there"? your reception and bartenders at the roof top are amazing. they got it. sorry to be so harsh. Carlton is about to open near u soon. take a grip
