You get what you pay for, I guess.
I knew going in that this was a no-frills, budget hotel. What I wasn't prepared for was the rude, unprofessional, off-putting reception we got when we arrived to check in. Check in was at 2pm. We arrived at 1:51pm and was told the room wasn't ready and to come back later. I said, "In 10 minutes?". She said it "might" be ready then. I asked if we could have a seat in the lobby and she responded, "If you must." She obviously did not care for the look of me (tattoos). I told myself I was being paranoid and decided not to let her ruin our trip. Then a gentleman came in moments after we did and she was a delight to him. I sat there with my jaw dropped as she helped him with a smile on her face. She even called the room attendant to see if his room was ready! (That was not offered to me). When she finally called me up to check in, she kept referring to my daughter as "he/him" even after I corrected her nicely. She then proceeded to tell me I should have an ID made for my child because she wouldn't want her to turn up as a "Jane Doe." Outside of that bizarre conversation, I booked a private bathroom room and did not receive it. The room was located next to the shared shower and it was insanely loud whenever someone tried to start the water. The bathroom was not cleaned well. The halls were not air conditioned. One of the elevators broke during our stay. We were happy/lucky to only be staying one night! Jason, who checked us out, was awesome though! He was very helpful and sweet.

The Leo House is a decent place to stay in the Chelsea neighborhood. It's an older building, but well maintained. For the price, it's a great value. Rooms are small but adequate. I recommend having a portable white noise machine because the hotel is a little loud--street noise. They have a great buffet breakfast. The staff is very friendly & helpful. Also, a great location. Would definitely stay again.

Enjoyed "feel" of Chelsea area--families with kids in strollers, people walking mixed breed dogs, some nice eateries, esp. Forrager's

Old world charm with wonderful, friendly staff.
Great location with friendly, helpful staff. The buffet breakfast is wonderful. This is an older hotel with old world charm but can be a little noisy if others are not considerate as the walls are thin and the doors slam. I would come back again, for sure.

Can't Go Wrong Here!
They were so gracious to me. I had fever, with what ended up to be a sinus infection, and was feeling lousy. They let me rest as they saw how miserable I was. Very friendly. Excellent breakfast selection, with homemade bread. Aside from being sick, it was an enjoyable stay and felt like home! Nice to around like-minded people. 5 Stars!
