receive an email in the afternoon , informing no facilities available on site, no restaurant , bar , swimming pool , when turning up , security on the doors , lots of people milling about, when asked what is going on , advised that the Home Office had taken over the hotel, housing immigrants , this hotel should not be available to book

It was very disappointing. There was no bar or restaurant service which we weren’t told about, so we had to go to the nearest pub to eat.This was a taxi ride there and back when we like to sit and enjoy the hotel which we have paid good money for. It was full of asylum seekers which we weren’t told about either. It was very intimidating and I felt too uncomfortable to get a breakfast as the asylum seekers were there getting theirs.

All facility services closed.
Used to use the hotel pre covid but since then the bar area and restaurant hasn’t been reopened. Staff say the Home office have taken over half the hotel, can only assume the reason which would explain the spa, restaurant and bar being closed. It’s ruined the hotel in my view. If you want to eat you go out or order takeaway and eat on your room. Staff helpful. My colleagues and I will not be staying there again until the home office are out with their ‘clients’ and the services are back open.

Great hotel. Wedding function disturbs.
Regular user of this hotel. Current issue is there is no restaurant or bar open still for hotel users. However functions are still going ahead. Unfortunate stay this time, wedding function music could be heard until around 11.30pm. Bass vibrations through the floor. Hotel rooms, staff all high standard as per usual.

Migrant Hotel
This hotel is currently being used by the Home Office to house migrants. I was not made aware if this at any point during the booking process or even when i arrived, they said facilities were closed due to covid which was a lie.

Hotel being used by home office.
This hotel is being used by the home office to house refugees. I assume this explains why all the facilities are closed such as pool, bar and restaurant. Lots of men walking around and quite noisy at night. Wasn't too bad for us but if I was a female single traveller it may not be an ideal place to stay. Staff were friendly enough though.

Asylum seeker hotel - no facilities open
This has to be the worst stay I have ever had in a hotel in the UK!!! It is advertised as 4* with leisure facilities a restaurant and bar. All of which are actually closed and will be for the foreseeable therefore your advertising is false. It has been turned into a hotel for asylum seekers and as such is over run with children and adults with nowhere to go. I had to get security to come out to the car park with me to move it and as people were sitting on my car and poking sticks in my tyres. Can I ask you to please take the images and descriptions of the facilities off your site as they are highly misleading when you have to go into property details (no one ever does) to see that all of the facilities are closed.
