Very clean and central location
Very small room but exceptionally clean. 2 double glazed windows plus a shutter meant it was very quiet in spite of being in a busy area of Centro. A few issues, although slightly annoying, didn't ruin our stay. We asked twice for the batteries of the safe to be changed but our request was not fulfilled. The "spa shower" is far too big for the tiny shower cubicle. It was quite difficult to shower. They need to take it out and just put a simple shower head. Despite 2 of us, they only brought one set of towels most days.

Well located, 40+ steps upto reception but staff come down to help bring luggage up, single blanket not good on a winters weekend, Towels frayed and too small. Shower nice but cubicle too small for type of shower fitted. Good for 1-2 days but not really any longer.

Great location
Affordable option for the location where there are many high end price point hotels. Staff helpful and friendly. Only drawback, if it is one for travelers, is the many steps/floors to climb. Staff very helpful in carrying luggage on arrival but note if you are leaving outside of office hours it is difficult with heavy luggage. Great value however.

If only it would have a lift it could be perfect!
As written above all was perfect but -a big but- 43 steps climbing to the reception place. Our rooms were on this floor. For youngsters it is an excellent place!! For elderly persons as we are it was a problem.Otherwise we recomend .

Perfect Central Hotel
Madrid City Rooms proved to be the perfect base in the centre of Madrid for the Champions League Final weekend. My single room, though small, had everything I needed for a comfortable stay - small fridge, safe, excellent shower room and comfortable double bed. The lighting, too, was well arranged and the electric shutter effectively shut out light and some of the noise from football fans. The reception staff could not have been more helpful. The hotel is up two flights of stairs and when I arrived they came down to carry my bags up and again at the end of my stay, took them down. On my final day, I could leave my bags and came back mid afternoon to change before my journey home. The hotel is ideally situated, four minutes from Sol Metro station but within walking distance of the Prado, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum and the Botanic Garden. There are plenty of restaurants and tapas bars close by together with small supermarkets. Thank you to the staff for a very good stay. Highly recommended!
