Nice family getaway
We spent 3 nights at Monteverde.. The grounds are beautiful! I wished we had gone by car since the walk from the lobby to the cabins can be far. It was difficult to walk down the rock paved road with luggage. The hotel does not offer a ride by vehicle so be prepared to walk up and downhill. Overall this place is comfortable and beautiful.

Doesn't live up to its rating!
We are no longer young & hauling our things (& selves) up about 20 stairs was difficult (didn't expect that) we planned to stay in for the evening & relax by a fire. The fire was nice, but the couches felt like sitting on boards! The area is beautiful, but we definitely will not stay here again!

Very Disappointed!
I reserved 2 cabins for 2 families. One would think that they would have put us in cabins next to each other. Nope! It was a trek to get to the other cabin! Also, pictures on website make the cabins look much more modern and nicer than they really are. Cabin was old. Both our bathrooms leaked so the floors were constantly wet and smelled. The grounds are lovely; you feel like you're in the middle of the forest, but it was a hike to get anywhere, even to get to the lobby! The wi-fi that was available in the lobby was slow and the lobby closes at 10:00 pm! The lobby of a "hotel" should be opened 24 hours! Service was mediocre. The cabins are equipped with a kitchen with dishes, cooking utensils (which they take full inventory of), but they didn't provide any dishwashing soap or sponge. I had to ask 4 times (The 4th time I had to actually go up to the lobby [on the second day] and pretty much yell at them) before they finally sent some down to our cabin. By this time, we had already given up and bought some in town. There are much nicer and newer hotels than this one in town (and better priced)! This hotel was actually about a couple of miles below the town center of Mazamitla.
