Traveling with a total of four people, go to rent a room with two beds. Motel calls a half hour following while we’re on the way informing us that they only have a room with a queen sized bed. I’ve already paid at this point so I figure oh well, fine, we’re already on our way, let’s see how we can work this.
Arrive at Motel 6. A woman of the evening is standing outside the reception office knocking on the glass. Informs my friends and I she had been there trying to check in for approximately twenty minutes. Another 20-30 minutes passes by, I’m peeking through the office windows, can hear the phone ringing off the hook inside the office. I’m about to just eat the cost and have us drive to another town to find something else.
The concierge appears from the back, and ever so slowly assists the lady of night ahead of us. I inquire as to wether there are certainly no options for a double bed, if I’m getting charged the same rate, and am told through a series of grunts and sentence fragments that’s “not my problem, that’s through Expedia”. Her name rhymes with “aerosol” and wouldn’t even put in the effort to make eye contact or full sentences.
Requested towels as there were none but wash clothes in our room. Received a stack of wash clothes instead. Cool.
The card reader promptly stopped working after a single use. Was charged well over the listed rate through this app, don’t even know who that’s on. If you’re in the South New Haven area and hate yourself, would recommend.
