Clean modern and easy to find
Very clean. Just off highway 1 andceasy to find. Has restaurant offering buffet dinner - about $65-70 per person but that’s comparable to area (Iceland know for expensive food). Stay included free hot breakfast and drinks. Has hot tuna and saunas. Had an excellent stay.

Great stop!
Great location to stop from the East side of Iceland on the way back to Reykjavik. They have two saunas and two hot tubs. We were unable to use the hot tub due to other guests staying in it for hours but the sauna was nice. Happy hour in bar and grocery store across the street. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable.

My research paid off!
I was very satisfied with my choice for this hotel. I did a lot of research and, knowing how short my two full days in Iceland were going to be, I knew I had to find a few places to make the stay count. Stracta delivered. As Blue Lagoon was "out", I knew that I still wanted a geothermal/hot tub (and sauna) experience as well as a decent restaurant and an included FAB breakfast for our overnight stopping point. The front desk staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. My friend had a quest for the perfect Icelandic sweater and we were directed to a woolen sweater shop 40 m away. The owner of that shop, "Becca", ultimately is going to make the sweater for my friend-- all in two weeks time-- and mail it at no extra cost! Bingo! Mission accomplished! The hotel accommodates larger groups but it was never unruly or noisy. There is a little gift shop as well. Several places to have a drink. Our room was pretty spartan, typical Icelandic utilitarian, but adequate. My bed, however, was like a scooped out melon, It was the most narrow twin bed I have ever slept in and Ihad to literally turn the bed from head to foot to find an non-sunk in spot. I spoke to them manager about it and he was gracious and thankful, saying that these are the kinds of issues that he appreciates knowing so he can change the situation. Good (and correct!) attitude. So, based on all of my experience there, I wold stay there again. Everything about it was easy, including a nice dinner.
