B&B di Porta Tosa, Milan
Great little place.
This place was a great little ‘find’. The room was compact and cozy, with everything we needed and nothing more. Breakfast was fabulous, catered by our very personable host Stefano. He had recommendations for dinner the night we arrived...a two minute walk to Mamma Oliva for a delicious lasagna. He guided us on where to get bus/tram/metro tickets to the center (€4.50 for the 24hr ticket), and on the day we departed we were given many thoughtful ideas on places to visit as we drove from Milan to Florence. Overall, I give these guys top marks for their “service attitude”...they see you as a guest looking to have a good time, and not just a walking wallet! We would definitely stay here again if our travels take us back to Milano. (Only challenge might be’s free on all the surrounding streets, and we luckily found a spot when we arrived at 9pm on a week night....but I can imagine some mild stress if searching for parking is not your thing! Once we got a spot, we left it there for two days and used public transport around the city...a better option.

We had a wonderful stay here, sadly only for one night. The neighbourhood is beautiful and peaceful, transport links are good and it's only 10 mins in a cab from the airport. I stay in a lot of hotels for work and find them impersonal and disappointing. This B&B with its impeccable style and personal design touches was the perfect antidote and excellent value. The house is beautiful decorated and very comfortable. The bed was extremely comfortable and the aircon very welcome in the 35-degree heat! The shutters meant the room was very dark and we slept deeply. The room has all the amenities you need, mini bar, plenty of storage, slippers, and the bathroom was stylish, well equipped and clean. The host was very helpful and friendly. We really enjoyed having breakfast in the gorgeous and well maintained garden, with delicious pastries, freshly squeezed orange juice and local preserves. And cappuccino, naturally! My only complaint is that check-out was a little early, at 10am, but very kindly we were allowed an extra half an hour before we got on our way to our next stop, but really, I can't fault anything.

B&B comodo e pulito

"Convienent and clean B&B"
Stefano runs a first class establishment. He helped us up with our suitcases that I am sure we had rocks in! We appreciated the breakfast with yogurt and cheeses, as I need some protein in the morning. The sheets always smelled so delightful.

"Comfort in a Big City"
We bookended our Italy trip with 2 nights in Milan in the beginning and 4 nights a the end of our trip and both times were fantastic. We had a great stay. The rooms were quiet, the other guests were smart and well traveled, the breakfast each morning in the garden was wonderful with freshly made local pastries and self serve espresso, and fresh squeeze orange juice. There was a really nice shower and nice large rooms so we could spread out a bit. The neighborhood was very quiet and safe and has access to bus and tram just one block from the B&B so it is super easy to get to anywhere in the city. Stefano was an amazing host, he found us some amazing locals-only restaurants and gave great advice about what to enjoy in Milano. He has done a great job in restoring the building and making it feel so welcoming. He has great design sense and has added some cool features to the rooms like designer lights and lamps. Everything has a "new meets old" design style which comes together well in a forward looking city like Milan. The B&B is a quick bus ride (#73) straight from Linate airport and is was so easy to reach. The bus stop is one block from the B&B.
