I can't understand how this property got an 8.2 rating. The lobby had a gloomy atmosphere, as there were patches of spackle all over the walls. The night receptionist was lurking in the back room and when she heard me at the desk, she came out with a moody response and not even a smile or welcome. She made it very apparent that she didn't like her job.
We took our luggage to the third floor, to notice more spackle bedazzled walls and a clear plastic bag of dirty bed linen left on the hallway floor. Upon checking our room, we immediately noticed an odd odor, an ugly patch where the soap dish had been ripped from the shower, the towel rack and toilet paper spool were missing, a and a decidedly mold-ridden ceiling loomed overhead around the light fixture. I went down to request another room, mostly emphasizing the mold, and the moody woman made some snide remark under her breath. The only positive thing that followed was that the new room was in better shape, and the hallway remained quiet for a restful sleep. In the morning, I checked out the breakfast, only to be disappointed as expected. Cool coffee, over ripe fruit and greasy bacon greeted us, so we skipped it. The morning desk clerk was just as sullen and anti social as her night time counterpart, choosing to hide in the ante-room away from the breakfast group, until I finally placed my room key on the counter as I departed the hotel. Even housekeepers and hostesses did their best to snub guests.
