Exceptional 10.0
better than many hotels in HK
This property is more than a hostel. It's spacious, clean, well equipped. The property was built long time ago, but the renovation has transformed it into a very inviting lodging. Breakfast is included with 3 choices. Overall, IMO, it's better than a lot of so called hotels in HK. The front desk staff is very friendly, polite, professional, and helpful. Allen Wong is one of those. He did our check-out and spent some time showing us various ways to get to the airport. What a fine young man and what a great team. Will definitely come back whenever we visit HK.

Hotel is hard to get to if you had to haul your own luagge up hill . Very limited amenity. So so breakfast. Location is average.

The best hostel
I’ve been going to YHA Mei House since 2015 when it was fresh and hip. My second trip was a downer, but I’ve yet to find anything quite like this property. It’s the only place in Hong Kong (especially for a hostel) that provides free breakfast. It also has excellent rooms though the age is beginning to show. This is becoming a problem at this hostel, but I figure they will fix it up soon enough otherwise they’ll become exactly like every other hotel in Hong Kong. I usually enjoy my stay here though that 4pm room time is absolutely ludicrous especially since ever other hostel and hotel waits until 2pm.

Very quiet during the evening. The housing construction project create some noise 8-5. The twin room was big and could use a bigger twin bed.
