Izumi Hotel Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur

WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Wish we never stayed here, We paid for a particular room, but the room we got was nothing like what was pictured. They put us in a damp room that had little bugs crawling on the floor, walls, table tops, everywhere. Was disgusted. They moved us to a different room but then we had to PAY more for the room! I could not believe this. There was construction going on all night which was so loud, and in the main lobby work was going on which was in the ceiling area - dumping asbestos insulation on the heads of guests walking by! Additionally, someone from the front desk banged on the door at 10 pm at night demanding for the first room key to the room with the bugs :(which we turned in already) but were disturbed abruptly at that late hour for a room key?!?! We could not believe it. Shady front desk staff. Did not want to even return my room deposit without a receipt- but they never GAVE us a receipt! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. A TOTAL RIP OFF ON TOP OF IT. THE LOCATION GOOD THAT’S IT. There are other places much better and cheaper than this. STAY AWAY!

The location is definitely great, free parking, short walk will reach Lot 10 area, so you can walk to Pavilion as well. Very convenient. Room was okay, it's not so clean of the bedsheet, nice shower room, room kinda small, but it was okay. It was heavy rain, we need to go out to get our car (just outside of the hotel parking, actually we can walk also, but we dont know it's so near) so we asked from the Hotel Staff whether can borrow an umbrella to us so we can get on the car & return it back, but the staff insists that they have no umbrella can borrow us (or no this kind service whatever). I was very dissapointed, as least you can help us to see what can do to us, or actually you really should some spare umbrellas in the hotel. At last, we try to ask the guard, the guard is so friendly & told us he has extra umbrella, but small one, can borrow to us & return at night is not a problem. (The guard is so much helpful than the staffs). Anyway, for the location & price, it's worth to stay as long as you don't mind the room is a little bit small.

When we arrived at Izumi hotel it was a bit late. We got to our room and found a sock between the sheets and a stain of some sort on them. Which means the sheets were not changed since the last guests. No problem we switched rooms. Next room had an intense cigarette smell, as if someone was in the room smoking. We tried to tough it out but being asmatic, we asked if something could be done to which they responded "we can spray the room maybe it will help". We decided to give up and go to bed. We stayed a total of 3 nights. The bed was comfortable, the staff was super nice and the shower was great. The only issue was the cleanliness. The walls were stained with juice, cigarette burns and there were quite a lot of ants roaming around. For the price and the location, it's an ok place to stay.

The hotel is located in a strategic area. It's so convenient to walk around Bukit Bintang from the Hotel especially if you're looking forward to go to Pavillion. The room was clean but as the hours pass by, the smell of cigarette smoke became stronger and stronger to the point where we decided to go out and get some fresh air. On the way out, we stopped by the lobby to see if there's anything that the hotel staff can do but we were answered rudely and instead of giving us the exact sized room, they downgraded us to smaller room instead eventhough it was not our fault and not a single apology from the hotel staff.

The hotel location is the main pulling factor for the stay. Being in the heart of Bukit Bintang making it accessible to great shopping experience, delicious food to eat and to experience the surrounding environment. Most of the major shopping outlets are within walking from the hotel like Lot 10, the Pavillion, Sungei Wang Plaza etc. The staffs are helpful and makes you feel welcome. Having an ample parking space added the necessary convenience for those who travel using their own transportation. Even better when you are upgraded to the next room level without incurring any additional cost. The standard room has a reasonable room space with a small wardrobe.
